MIL b/day card and Stamp-2-Lose Challenge

This is what I've been working on today during the on-line chat. It's my mil's bday today and we're going to celebrate with a small party this evening.

I used my new Storybook cart, and have to admit it didn't turn out exactly as I had planned...far from it. But it turned out okay and I'm sure she'll like it.

Did I mention it is a shaker card too?!! I'm in love with the sounds of the beads!

I also worked on the Stamp-2-Lose Challenge for Feb. 22-28, here were our choices:

1- Use a VersaMark ink pad, a background stamp, and chalks on a card... (stamp the background image with the VersaMark and let it dry, then use chalks rubbed gently over the image to make the background show- works best with white background cardstock/paper)

2- Since Spring is coming (hopefully) soon, use greens and yellows on a card

3- Stamp ANYTHING! It's always better than nothing!

I managed to do two of the challenges at the same time, AND make it into a shaker card. My head is swooning from all these beads! LOL!

Thanks for stopping by!

An Award from Carla!

Wasn't it sweet of Carla to send this award my way? Click here if you'd like to go and check out her blog.

The rules are fairly simple:

• Display the image of the stamp "Look How Cool Blog" you just won!
• Post the blog link you provided.
• Indicate your choice of 10 blogs.
• Let them know.
• Post the rules.
• Check if the blogs post the prize and followed the rules

I have one problem with the rules, I really don't think I know 10 people to pass this on to....seriously! Sorry Carl! So....with that said, please feel free to attach this to your blog with a shout out from where you got it. You really are all deserving of this and don't forget to follow the rules! LOL!

Shaker Card

Here's my second attempt at a shaker card, and considering my first try where I'm still inhaling glitter from an incorrectly closed box, I think this turned out really cute. This is another stamp set I just got called "Support the Girls" by Crafty Secrets. I love this technique and think I'm going to invest a couple more $$ into micro beads and confetti!

Stamp to Lose Challenge February 15-21

I went with the first challenge this week: Stamp a card and then use watercolors to accent what you've stamped.

To be honest...I love this card, it's from the Glamour Girls clear set by Crafty Secrets. After stamping the image, I used my embossing pen and black embossing powder to highlight certain areas of the boa. I think the fibers add texture and extend the feeling that a real boa would have.

Thanks again for another fun and "funky" challenge Pam!

Locks of Love and Measuring Up Tag

Here's my daughter on the day she got 9 inches of her hair cut off a couple of weeks ago. She donated her hair about 5 years ago, and knew she wanted to donate it again to Locks for Love, which is a wonderful organization! If anyone wants to know more about this great cause click here!

As I was up to my usual blog stalking I found I was tagged! Thanks to Pam for handing me this cute little tag!

It comes with just a few rules, so here goes...I have to say one nice thing about the man in my life, list six of the best things in my life, and then pass this award on to five other bloggers.

Seriously, I can't say just one nice thing about my husband because he is one the nicest men you will ever meet, he does more for me than anyone ever has and asks for so little in return!

The six best things in my life:
1. Frank
2. My children
3. Papa
4. Friends
5. Scrapbooking
6. Chocolate

I can't pass this on to only 5 bloggers, there are a few of you who follow mine and don't leave comments. Please take this and post it on your blogs, because when I come to visit yours...I'd love to see it!

Thanks for taking the time to visit. Don't forget to leave a comment so I can visit your blog too!

Flowers and Meatloaf, but not together!

Again, I have to say lucky, lucky, blessed me! How in the world I found such a wonderful man I'm still not sure! But look what he brought home to me...a dozen red roses, and they are beautiful!

I tell you, nothing screams romance quite like a lopsided heartshaped meatloaf! It is a delicious recipe and when it's topped off with broccoli, potatoes, eclairs, and wine...well, let's say it was a wonderful dinner! Did I mention it was all by candlelight and the TV was turned off too?!!!

That wasn't the end of our evening! We then opened a chocolate covered bottle of wine and had strawberries. It couldn't get much better than this....right?!!!

Well, it did! We then proceeded to play the longest hand of Uno in history with the kids! After an hour of playing the same hand we all threw in our cards, we were no were being done and it was already 10:30 at night. We were laughing so hard you might have thought the wine had gone to our heads, but actually....I think it may have been that the kids had a tad too much chocolate during the day.

I hope all of you had a wonderful and blessed Valentine's Day, and you did something that made your heart smile!

Blog Stalking has it's pay-offs!

Finally, blog stalking has paid me back with a wonderful award from Christina! Of course it's actually stalking when I don't leave comments or my name, but Christina seemed to have overlooked that part! LOL! If you haven't had the chance to check out her blog, please do...she's very talented and a true inspiration!

The only rules to this is to pass this award on to people who truely support your blog and take the time to leave comments. So I give this to the few who enable me! If I didn't put your name down don't think it's not because I didn't want too, it's because these wonderful ladies need to pass it on too! Now go check out their blogs...and don't forget to leave a comment or two, we all like to feel the love!
