WW Easter Reminder

Sometimes I just like to try different things, I never know why I do them...I just do and this ATC is one of those times when I started with an idea of coloring the bunnies in Easter egg colors...but why I went with stripes in shades of gray/black and added glitter...I don't know, it just happened! LOL!

Hop on over to Wicked Wednesday and join us in this week's EASTER challenge, you have until late Tuesday night for a chance to win one of two adorable Michelle Perkett Studio images.

Bambini

Eeeee....I'm getting ready to walk out the door to take an 8 hour drive to see my sister and her family, it's been since last June since I've seen them and I'm super excited to get on the road. The main reason we're going is my nephew and his wife are expecting twins and the baby shower is this weekend...Eeeeeee, can it get any better than this?!!

This was one of my 1st attempts at making a card with multiple frames...it was a lot of fun and not nearly as easy choosing colors and frames as I thought it would be. The baby is from A Day for Daisies....if you haven't had the opportunity to check out the ADFD digi shop, click HERE and be prepared to spend some time being amazed!

I'm not entering this in any challenges, just posting it. Have a great day and thanks for stopping by, it's always fun to read the wonderful comments that everyone leaves.

Cowgirl Motto

YeeHaw...I was able to use quite a few of my older supplies with this card! Like a 99cent CB Horseshoe die, the DP from 5+ years ago, the alpha stickers, the bandana paper...even Cheecky Shooter could be considered "retro"!

I tried really hard to make the alpha stickers stand out because I love that they look like rope, but in this picture you can't really tell...you can see them much better in person.

Challenges:
The Kraft Journal - Western Flair
TGF: Monday Fun Day - #26 Anything Goes

Stamp:
TGF: Cheeky Shooter

Wicked Wednesday Easter ATC

This adorable bunny is called Harvey the Easter Bunny by Michelle Perkett Studio and you have the chance to win him by participating in this week's Wicked Wednesday EASTER challenge.

After masking the image I stamped over it with Momento ink and a Harlequins background stamp, then sprayed the ATC with LSG Scintillating Silver Glitz Spritz. You would think I'd know by now that printer ink will bleed when it gets wet, but noooooooo....I keep trying it week after week after week! After the cardstock dried I outlined the smeared parts with my fine tip black marker and added some Viva Paper Pen pearls. The image was colored with Copics and in my usual fashion, glitter was added to the hat, collar, and eggs.

We'd love to see you joining us at Wicked Wednesdays, you have until next Tuesday evening to join in this EASTER challenge.

Party Down

The challenge at Dilly Beans this week is PARTY...therefore, Party Down Little Dude! I didn't use very many embellishments, I thought the colors were bold enough and anything else might take away from the image. I used a CG sentiment, and colored the corners of the paper with my Copics...I was pretty pleased with myself at how close I was able to match the corners to the stripes.

My original thought was to make the horns into party hats...cute, right?!! Maybe I will the next time. I also thought the floating head would make a CUTE balloon, again... maybe next time. Even though it's fairly simple, I think it's a fun card.

There's still time to join the challenge this week, you have until Thursday night!

Favorite Peep

I've been wanting to break-out my Cricut lately and needed to make a little "something" for Easter...so when I saw this adorable tag on A Child's Year cartridge I knew it was the cut that was meant to be.

Lot's of fun details, and my DIY sticker turned embellishment is the butterfly. After putting the sticker on cardstock I used my Epiphany Shapemaker which punches a circle shape and adheres the bubble cap over the image, all at the same time...I LOVE IT and use it, all the time!!!

A banner, spring border die, rub-ons, flowers, stickers, Viva Pearl Pen, Glossy Accents, and a googly eye...

I cut the tag base once and the chick two more times so I could pop-dot them. A little TH Distress Ink and Glossy Accents on the feet and beak completed this cut.

Challenges:
365 Cards: Day 22 - DIY
Exploring Cricut: It's a Spring Thing
My Sheri Crafts: #81 - Easter

Cricut:
A Child's Year, pg 33 Easter2 Tag

Fairy Princess Card w/ Tag

It seems I've picked up extra days at work the past couple of weeks and haven't been able to get to my craft area as much as I've wanted, so my thought was to combine a few challenges with my limited time. Lucky for me, there were a couple of duplicate theme's making it pretty easy to accomplish this week....not to mention that making tags is probably one of my favorite projects to do.

I used the gorgeous MME Bella Bella DP and found a sheet in the stack with a filigree around the outer edges of the paper, so I just fussy cut it and used it in place of the rick-rack on the 365 Days sketch. There was a tad bit left, so I added it to the corner of the tag. I used the clear stamp set Fairy Princess from TGF for all the sentiments, mushroom, and fairies...such a cute and versatile set! A couple of different punches were used, along with lace, Viva Decor Pearl Pens, twine, Copics, and stickers. Stickers?! Yes, the buttons are stickers...I put glossy accents over them to give them some dimension.

I love the little details!

Stamps:
TGF: Fairy Princess

Challenges:

Lemon Yellow

Happy Spring!

To go to Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge BABIES click HERE!

I woke up last Saturday to the sight of my Forsythia's blooming in the backyard, which is a month earlier than usual. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with our unusually warm winter and record breaking high temps over the past couple of weeks...I guess these beauties couldn't wait to get a peek at spring either.

This is what I woke up to on Monday morning, just two days after the first bloom...

**********************************************************

I followed this week's Deconstructed Sketch 43 using The Greeting Farm's Dress Up Set: a retired set which I was able to score at one of their Farmer's Market. The challenge at TGF is "Spring Cleaning" and I thought I'd clean out some of my old embellishments...the flowers (sprayed with LSG Starburst sprays) and lace, and even this gorgeous DVCV Lemon Drop DP is a year old. I think I need more challenges like this one...just to stay organized!

Challenges:
TGF: March 2012 - Spring Cleaning
Jen Shults: DS43

Thanks for stopping by, hope your day is filled with crafty inspiration!

Wicked Wednesday Babies

The challenge at Wicked Wednesday this week is BABIES and who doesn't love babies?! They bring new hope, for promises and for the future. I'm personally very excited to be driving to Missouri in the next couple of weeks with my daughter to go to a baby shower for my nephew and his wife who are expecting twins, a boy and a girl! **big smile**

Our sponsor this week is The Graphics Shoppe and they were super sweet to let each of us use an image to create an ATC with. As much as I tried to make this image into a girl...I really think it is a boy. Hmmmm.....

I was going for a baby quilt background and in hindsight I should have paper pieced it rather than use my Copics to color in the blocks. Again, hmmmm....

So go ahead and find your favorite baby embellishment, nursery rhyme, or even a diaper pin and make one of these fun (and additcting) ATC's, you have until next Tuesday evening to join in the Wicked Wednesday challenge.

Flying Things Reminder

This is a quick reminder that there's still plenty of time for you to join us over at Wicked Wednesday for our weekly ATC challenge, and if you didn't guess...the theme is Flying Things. I bet if you put your thinking cap on you could come up with SOMETHING that flies...butterflies, planes, angels, maybe even shoes...or would that just be inside of my house?!! LOL!

This ATC started out as a simple thought...to make hot air balloons using the Prima stencil that's been taped to the side of my craft desk for over a year. I found a nice thick piece of Bazzill cardstock that wouldn't warp while being sprayed with LSG Starburst Frosted-Forget-Me-Nots. After spritzing it I didn't think the image was going to show up as much as I wanted so I grabbed a bottle of LSG Starburst Blue Hawaiian Blue and spritz the ATC again. I LOVED the effect and color, but to my dismay (or so I thought) when I took the stencil off I realized the spray had bled under the stencil, causing this mottled look. Squeee...I really LOVED this effect even more! I quickly blotted all the excess liquid away and dried the image with my heating tool, then I put the stencil back in place and used some TH Bundled Sage Distress Ink to hightlight a few of the balloons. I didn't want to do too much more to this, so I grabbed my white Signo pen and did a little outlining. I used TGF's The Sky's the Limit set to stamp the cloud outline a couple of times and used the sentiment from the same set to stamp around the edges. I wish you could see how shiny and glitzy this ATC is in RL, this is one of my favorites to date!

This fits right into 365 Cards challenge for Day 16: Color Scheme

Thanks for stopping by, hope you can join us over at Wicked Wednesday for another fun and easy challenge!

TGF Black and White

There's another Monday Fun Day challenge going on at The Greeting Farm and the challenge this week is Black and White, which is not my favorite color combination for card making. Once I figured out what "theme" I was going to go with, this went together quickly.

One of my neighborhood besties celebrated her birthday a couple of weeks ago but was traveling abroad on her actual birthday, so all the neighbor ladies got together this past Tuesday evening at a very sweet and charming french restuarant to celebrate. French tapas and crepes...need I say more?!!

The CG sentiment was printed twice, once in french and once in english...translate.google is one of my favorite sites.

Flying Things

What a fun theme at Wicked Wednesday this week...it's all about Things that Fly! We were given these adorable Kitty Aviatar images by Digi Darla to use for this week's challenge, and this is what I came up with. I went with the idea of the plane carrying a banner and lifting Kitty off the ground....it never hurts to Dream Big, right?!!

As always, thanks for stopping by and don't forget that you have until next Tuesday evening to link up to this ATC challenge. I hope you get the chance to join the fun this week, because FUN is what it's all about.

I Love Glitter Challenge

The challenge at Dilly Beans this week is to use GLITTER on our project....OH MY, you all know how much I love glitter! Not only was this a fun card to make, but I was able to use up some of the bottle caps I've been hoarding for a while, along with some alpha stickers that have been hanging around for way too long!

Here's a close-up of the cupcake and skull...both have been glitter-fied!

Wicked Wednesday - Rainbow Reminder

Here's a quick reminder: there's still time to join in this weeks challenge at Wicked Wednesday and you've just got to love the theme: Over the Rainbow.

I started with stamping my sentiment in Versamark on white cardstock, then I embossed the sentiment with clear embossing powder. I made the clouds with a cloud die-cut and different colored TH distress inks. I didn't think the sentiment stood out enough, so I used deeper colored TH distress inks around the words and when I was happy with the look, I used a damp paper towel to wipe away any ink residue that was left on the sentiment...making the white really stand out. I stamped a couple of angels and glittered all around the sentiment.

We'd love to see you join us in this fun challenge, and really...how simple is a 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 ATC?!! LOL!

Catholic Rubber Stamps: Angel and Sentiment
Memory Box: Cloud Die
Tim Holtz: Distress Inks

No Shenanigans

I stopped by a small stamp/scrapbooking store the other day and the owner and I started talking about some of the new dies that are being introduced lately and I said that as much I would love to get a few more dies, I still loved my Cricut and should use it more often, especially for basic shapes. The owner laughed and told me to "throw that old Cricut away!" I think she must have heard the gasp I let out and saw the look of terror on my face after she said it because there was an awkward silence for a few minutes, and then all I could stammer out was, "NO."
OMG, the thought of not having my Cricut...

So I went home, plugged in my E, found some challenges, colored a digi with Copics, cut, glued, popped...and this is what I came up with:

I'm entering this little guy in a couple of different Challenges this week:

Just a quick reminder that you still have a couple more days to join the Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge this week....the theme is CELEBRATE ART.

I found this gorgeous quote on-line and printed it out...then I started to doodle around it. I pulled out my Copics, black out-liner, and white gel pen and started to fill it in. I'm really pleased with the way this turned out and think this is a true reprensentation of myself....full of color, a lot of scattered thoughts, and always going in a couple of different directions at the same time, LOL!

Go ahead...grab a piece of paper and your favorite art medium, then join us for this week's challenge...we'd love to have you join us!
