WW Sunshine Challenge

What a fun ATC to make...maybe because I have a "thing" for smiley faces and have them all all around my house? Maybe because it's such a cute image? Maybe because this image makes me happy? Maybe because I think of warm summer days when I see this image? Sheesh....now I want to sit out on the chaise with a good book and a glass of sweet tea!

To make the sun rays behind the sun I used a page from an old book and DP from So Sophie, all the edges were distressed with TH products, zig-zag rub-ons were added, and then I decided to outline all the zig-zagging with a black pen. The sun image was cropped and popped. The clouds are part of the same image...I just decided to cut and adhere them elsewhere on the ATC. The sentiment was made with my handy-dandy Dymo label maker (which is a staple in my crafting supplies!) and lastly, a few gold rhinestones finished it off.

This week's challenge is Sunshine/You are my Sunshine
and the image I used is by Bugaboo Digi Stamps...you have until next Tuesday evening to join us at Wicked Wednesday for the chance to win this weeks prize...which is 7 digi images from the Bugaboo shop!

Go ahead...put on a happy face and have a great day!

Wicked Wednesday Earth Day Challenge Reminder

When making this ATC I had a lot of trouble deciding on colors because I wanted to use EARTH tones but everything I did was too dark or just not "right"...this seemed to take f.o.r.e.v.e.r! Finally, after adding some rub-ons in opposing corners I distressed all the edges with some TH inks and to my surprise...the outlines of the rub-on stayed white. Wowza, I love the final look.

A quick reminder that you still have a few days to enter the Earth Day Challenge over at Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge Blog. You have the opportunity to win one of two images from our sponsor Just Some Lines!

As always, thanks for stopping by!

Pretty in Blue

Have you ever made a card and wondered to yourself why it was so easy to put together when there are other times that you struggle for hours?! This went together in no time and I'm thinking it's all because of this gorgeous DP by DCWV called Mimosa, matching the papers couldn't have been easier. I love all the bird and butterfly images throughout the pad and decided to use DP as the main image instead of stamping and coloring one....only because my mother is a bird fanatic and this is perfect for her upcoming birthday, besides...why would I want to hide this gorgeous image behind all the layering that I do?!!

I used Jen Shults' DS No. 47...what a wonderful sketch and her DT is truely AWESOME! I used TH distress inks on all the edges, fussy cut some butterflies, used a Spellbinders Mega-Oval die, a SU Vintage Flower adornment, Kraft paper, lots of blue, and a stamped birthday sentiment...whew!!

Challenges:
Deconstructed Sketch: No. 47
Simon Says Stamp: April Showers Bring Spring Flowers
Kraft Journal - April Showers Bring May Flowers
Flutter By Wednesdays: #198-Birthday
The Stamping Boutique: #33-Distress

Thanks for stopping by, I love chatting and visiting with friends...old and new!

FFF - Good Things Come in Small Sizes

I've been super busy this week and haven't had time to join many challenges but I have such a soft spot for TGF stamps and always try to find the time for one of their weekly challenges. This week the challenge is called Good Things Come in Small Sizes and we were to make a card/project smaller than 4x4. Sounded simple enough to me but the trouble was that I didn't need a card for anyone for another month...if only my troubles were that simple, eh?!! LOL! So I grabbed the ink pad and stamped this adorably sweet image of Amelia and realized I grabbed the Paris Dusk instead of Tuxedo Black ink..."oh well, I can work with this."

This card is exactly 4x4 and I used Amelia from the OA Happy Day set and every time I see this adorably sweet little girl I just have to smile...if only I could pinch those cheeks!

Thanks for stopping by, it's always fun to visit with friends...old and new!

Wicked Wednesday #27 Getting Buggy

The theme this week is GETTING BUGGY...did you say, "ewwwwww?!!" No need to worry...you can use any kind of bugs you want....ladybugs, bumble bees, butterflies...even a VW Bettle would work! LOL!

Our sponsor this week is Dilly Beans and I was offered the #335 Girl & Butterfly digi image to use. I thought I'd make the butterflies look like they were flying on a windy day. The butterflies were printed twice, fussy cut and popped, along with using flock and glitter on the wings and body. All the edges were distressed in TH Frayed Burplap.

Ohhhhh noooooo, I wish I could remember the site that offered this free sentiment. As soon as I do, I'll come back and revise this post...I just know you're going to want to go and visit them too.

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you joining us for this week's challenge!
:Dxx

PS..Thanks to Jenn for letting me know the sentiment is from Scrapalicious Times Sentiments.

WW Forest Fairies/Woodland Nymph Reminder

Oh gosh, was this ever a lot of fun to make! I started by rubbing TH distress stains in Broken China and Bundled Sage over the base of my ATC. Then I dabbed it with LSG Frosted Forget-Me-Nots. Stamped the background with a fab stamp by Donna Salazar called Twiggy in Bundled Sage and Forest Moss. I masked and inked only the sentiment and stamped it in the corner, then I inked the fairy and stampws it. I distressed all the edges with TH distress ink in Frayed Burlap. I added some gold mesh, Trombley's Elements in earth textures, and twine to finish this off.

I really do love this ATC...maybe because I used all my favorite colors on it?!!

Don't forget that you have until Tuesday evening to join us in this magical challenge at Wicked Wednesdays....hope to see you joining us!

SPRING Banner

Here's a banner I made to celebrate SPRING...light, bright, and pastel-ly-ish!

I started by using my Sizzix Banner Pendant dies, both the Plain and Scallop sets with white cardstock and kraft paper. Then I sewed the DP onto each pennant using a zig-zag stitch.

I love the siloutte shapes on A Childs Year cartridge and decided to put one on each end, along with the little girl holding a basket in the center...all were cut at 5 inches. I shadowed all 3 images and popped them. I cut each flower three times and used Kraft paper for the final layer for a makeshift shadow as the ICON images on the ACY cart doesn't have a shadow feature. I cut the duck three times and popped each layer, then added a googly eye.

The word SPRING was cut using the Feeling Groovy cartridge and I used my all-time favorite feature on most cartridges...the shadow feature, lol! I then ran all the letters through my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots embossing folders.

The butterflies are from two different MS punches and I used Viva Pearl Pens to add the pearl dots on the inside of each butterfly.

After adding a couple sequined flower embellishments onto the flowers, I ran tulle and a string of pink pearls through the holes I punched at the corner of each pendant and tied a loose knot in the tulle at each end of the banner. I think the Tulle adds softness to the banner and is perfect for hanging it too!

Here's the entire banner:

It just dawned on me that I didn't use any ink on this project...I seriously think that this is a first for me!

Challenges:
My Kraft Journal: Celebrate Spring or Easter
Paper Playtime: #71 April Showers

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and visit and/or leave a comment...both are appreciated and brighten my day!

Woodland Nymph/Forest Fairies

A couple of weeks ago I took my daughter to a s'booking crop and gave her this adorable C.C. Designs digi image from to color and this is what she came up with...didn't she do a great job! After she colored it with watercolor pencils I used the image to finish this ATC by adding some butterfly stickers and a lovely sentiment from Verve stamps.

The theme at Wicked Wednesdays ATC Challenge blog this week is Woodland Nymph/Forest Fairies and what a fun challenge this is...hope you get the chance to join us!

I'm also entering this in this week's Flutter By Wednesdays #197 Open challenge.

Sugar Peep

Do you think this Sugar Skull looks like a Peep?! I sure hope so, that's the look I was going for on this card....my kiddos love Peeps! Thank goodness they come in an array of colors that way they get their own color on Easter morning and no one is snacking on the wrong Peeps!

I'm entering this in the Dilly Beans Skulls and Skellies challenge this week. I used one of their Sugar Skull images for this and colored it with Copics. I found the Peeps HERE, printed and fussy cut them.

Thanks for stopping by, it's always nice to chat!
