FBW #241 May Sketch

Once again at Flutter By Wednesday we have a fabulous sketch by our own FBW Sketch Designer Kathy Curry and gosh, did I have a great time working with it! I have a feeling the rest of the DT enjoyed this sketch as much because they did such an awesome job with this week's challenge...so many fluttering butterflies and fairies!

 

  

This gorgeous image is by Magenta, and all DP is from my box of scraps. When I decided to finish the inside of this card, I also added a few Martha Stewart punched butterflies in yellow on the outside to the right side of this card...I sure wish I had taken a picture of it with the added butterflies because it really did add a bit of "pop" to this card. All in all, my mother-in-law loved this on Mother's Day!

 

As I said earlier, my teamies did an awesome job on this sketch which you can see while you're linking your challenge project HERE. This challenge runs thru 7:00 pst next Tuesday evening.

Y&FH #16 Anything But a Card

At the end of July I am hosting a local scrapbook retreat and thought it would be fun to decorate each of the tables with a little "something," but with a total of 13 tables to decorate I started to think it might be wise to combine cute with cost effective. I think this 5.5" x 5.5" rosette with Fumi w/ Turtle is going to be the perfect solution.

  

 I am proud to say that not one Hershey's Kiss was

harmed during the photography of this rosette!!

 

Two (2) strips of  heavy card stock were cut at 2.5" x 12" after using a scallop border punch on the long edge. After the strips were scored and pleated at all indents, both ends were attached with Scor-Tape.  I used a Spellbinders circle and scalloped circle die to make the center of the rosette.

 

The current challenge at Yumi & Fumi Handmade is Anything But a Card (ABC). Think tags, gift card holders, banners, journals, bookmarks....so many paper crafts fall into this category. There is one small catch to this challenge....you can't win if you don't enter and with a fabulous $15 gift certificate to the Y&FH store as the prize, it is definitely worth entering.

The challenge runs through Friday, 5/24 at noon, pst to ENTER, and all rules and qualifying stamps can be found in the Challenge Info tab.

WW #84 Show Us the Future Reminder

Did you ever buy one of these little red fish that when you put it in the palm of your hand it is supposed to tell the future? If I remember correctly, mine would either curl up entirely or lay motionless...there was nothing in between which was disappointing because I always wanted it to see it move.  Is it a real fortune teller? I'm not too sure about that, but it does make a cute ATC!

FBW #240 Buttons

We have a fabulous challenge starting today over at Flutter By Wednesday and it's all about BUTTONS. Besides having the required fairy and/or butterfly, you'll also need to have buttons on your project.

 I used Michele Perkett's Daydream Fantasy image. The buttons are vintage and are from my mother's button box that has been collecting buttons for years. I always find it to be a lot of fun searching through the box because of the wonderful sound the buttons make when I rifle through them.
