A Journal for Macala

In case you're wondering....what is my all-time favorite project to make? Banners! But second on my list is making journals...which is a good thing because I've decided to make journals for all of my nieces for Christmas this year. You might even get tired of seeing me post so many...but hopefully you won't?! LOL.

This is for my niece Macala who just turned 10 less than a month ago. She's into bright colors, fashion, dancing, glitter and TIARAS! The green tulle tied on the binding has glitter embedded in it and when Macala come over in October for our annual rib-fest she was playing in my craft area, swirling and twirling all night with strands of this tulle...leaving a mixture of glitter and dust floating in the air for days. I couldn't help but laugh and cry at the same time....there was glitter EVERYWHERE!

How awesome that I won this adorable Bean from TGF a couple of weeks ago and it just arrived yesterday...after inking it up this morning I couldn't wait to multi-color her hair....ADORABLE! I also made a charm using beads and TH fragments...a girl can never have too many fragments!

The sketch on the cover of the journal is by Kathy Curry and I've used it before a couple of times, the simplicity of the sketch is what works so well.

Challenges:
Yumi & Fumi Handmade:    Use ribbon or lace
Anyone for Anya: No patterned paper
Simon Says Stamp: Anything goes
Use It Tuesday: Ink it up finally

Thanks for stopping by and leaving such nice comments, they always warm my heart!

Wicked Wednesday #60 Frame-it

*********************************************

Please scroll down for this week's FBW #216 Punch-It challenge

*********************************************

Our sponsor at Wicked Wednesday this week is Stitchy Bear and they gave us quite a few images to choose from for this week's FRAME-IT challenge. I chose this wonderful flower frame and after coloring it, I glued it on top of silver metallic cardstock....hoping for a mirror effect which resulted in the Mirror, Miror on the wall sentiment.

You have until 7:00 pm next Tuesday evening to join us in this fun challenge, feel free to link up HERE...we'd love to have you join us. Don't forget to let me know if you do play along, I'd love to stop by your blog and see your mini creations!

Flutter By Wednesday #216 - Punch It!

This week's challenge at Flutter By Wednesday is to pull out your punches and PUNCH IT! What a great way to relieve some holiday stress, right?!! LOL! Well...maybe not, but it's a great way to put those punches to use. I don't own a lot of shape punches except for a few circles, squares, and butterflies...along with a handful of border punches. I wish I had a few more and always think I'm going to buy another one when they're 40% off... but then I start to think about it and realize that I almost always use the first 2 or 3 border punches I bought, so why spend the money?!

I used Bugaboo's Ava Mistletoe Fairy image,  along with my EK Success Pointed Flower Edged Punch. The ornament die is from Spellbinders, and the paper is from an older K&Co 12x12 pad. I wish you could see just how pretty this card really is...I think this is one of my favorites.

You have an entire week to join us for the PUNCH IT challenge, feel free to link up HERE! Don't forget to check out the wonderful projects my teamies came up with this week...they always inspire me. Sadly, our fellow teamie Kristie is leaving her DT post this week....we'll miss her, and wish her only the best!.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving all of the sweet comments that you do...they always put a smile on my face!

Wicked Wednesday #59 Mythical Creatures Reminder

Meet Clyde, he's a digi image from Bugaboo...isn't he A-dorable?!!! The castle is a coloring page download that I found on Google images. This ATC reminds me of the movie Dragonheart...with Dennis Quaid and Sean Connery's voice as Draco, my kiddos will still pop in the video (yes, video!) every once in a while and watch it...it's a great boy movie.

This is a quick reminder that you have until next Tuesday evening to join us at Wicked Wednesday for this fun and Mythical Creatures challenge....feel free to link up HERE!
As always, thanks for taking the time to stop by and leave such sweet comments...they really do make my day.

Christmas Wishes

A great sketch can make a great card and this fabulous Anyone for Anya's November sketch helped to make this one easy-peasy card! After stamping TGF's Sparkling Season Clear Stamp Set on Kraft and basic white cardstock...I fussy cut the banners and colored them with Copics. I added some glittered brads, bling, and a flower. I told you...EASY!

Challenges:
Anyone for Anya:November Sketch
The Kraft Journal: Holiday Cards

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and say Hi, it's always appreciated.

Wicked Wednesday #59 Mythical Creatures

****************************************
Please scroll down for this week's FBW SKETCH challenge.
****************************************
Our sponsor for the Mythical Creatures challenge this week at Wicked Wednesday is Delicious Doodles, they are offering 4 images of choice from their online store to one random winner. There were just too many choices for this theme. and I found it hard to choose just one...

I colored this stunning Black Pearl Mermaid image with Copics, added black pearls with a Viva Decor Paper Pen, and Stickled her tail. Actually, I didn't like the look of the Stickles as it was drying so I scraped them off of the image....leaving a very glittery and iridescent tail.

It goes with out saying....we would love to have you join us this week for this fun and mythical challange! Feel free to link up to Wicked Wednesday HERE, and wait until you see what my fellow teamies came up with....all I can say is WOWZA!

Thanks for stopping by and to those who celebrate Thanksgiving...enjoy, relax, feast, give thanks!
Happy Thanksgiving!

FBW #215 Sketch by Kathy

This week's challenge at Flutter By Wednesday is to use this wonderful sketch by our own Sketch Designer Kathy Curry. If you've never tried one of her sketches I have to tell you, they are easy to work with and ALWAYS have wonderful results.

This sketch along with a butterfly and/or fairy....that's all you need to join us this week!

I decided to use Kathy's sketch to make a little notebook for myself because I was having trouble keeping track of some of my favorite weekly challenges and DT obligations....I know an on-line calendar works nicely, but I'm one who has to actually write it down to remember it. That's what this was made for....I love it and use it almost daily, I really like knowing I'm keeping everything in one place.

I'm such a fan of Michele Perkett's digi images and used her wonderful Lily the Fairy Enchantment image for this week's challenge. The DP is from Theresa Collin's Fabrication line and MME's _?_ line.  I used my BIA to bind the 4.25" x 5.5" pages and made a page marker with ribbon and a butterfly charm.  And if you can image...lots of glitter in all the right places.

You have until next Tuesday Evening to join us in this fun challenge, feel free to link up HERE...and don't forget to check out how my teamies used this wonderful sketch....you will be inspired.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have a happy and blessed Thanksgiving!

Wicked Wednesday - Thankful Reminder

After stamping this fabulous sentiment (which came from M's $1 bin) with Versamark,  I used white embossing powder and heat set it. The edges of this Little Darlings DP by Graphic 45 were inked and a couple of blinged out leaves were added.

Don't forget that you have until next Tuesday evening to join us at Wicked Wednesday with a THANKFUL themed ATC. To help encourage you, our sponsor Dilly Beans is offering one lucky, yet random winner the chance to win one digi stamp of their choice. If you haven't had the chance to check out Dilly Beans I strongly encourage you to...HERE!

Happy, blessed, and ever thankful....that's me!.

JSL - Reduce, Reuse, Recyle

I had a couple of minutes the other day so  I thought I'd join in Just Some Lines bi-weekly challenge which is Reduce, Reuse, Recyle. I think it goes without saying that we should try our best to to avoid waste when it involves our natural resources, but as  always...it's easier said than done. Still, we should try as every little bit helps.

For this card I used green twine that was originally wrapped around the contents of an airmail package, and the plastic sheet behind the birdseed came from some old Spellbinder's packaging. The image is JSL Emo Springtime and the sentiment is from Inkadinkadoo. Lastly, I was organizing some crafting supplies and ran across my stash of Impression Obsession's Shake It Pouch(es) and had to use one...how cute is that birdseed!!

FBW & WW Thank-You Collaboration

The day has come where both of my DT challenges are one and the same...THANK-YOU! Seriously, THANK-YOU/THANKFUL is the challenge for both teams, lol!

.
This adorable image from Dilly Beans is Amalia and after coloring her in a few places I added  a little sentiment, then popped a Recollections butterfly on top of everything.  How sweet that Dilly Beans is our sponsor at Wicked Wednesday this week!

A fairy or butterfly, and a thank-you....those are the only requirements for this week's Flutter By Wednesday challenge and I had all of that on my ATC so it only made sense to me to make it into a card.

I used Jen Shults' DS #76 sketch for inspiration, even though I didn't make the deadline for her weekly challenge I still wanted to mention which sketch I used.

You have until Tuesday evening to join both challenges, feel free to link up to Wicked Wednesday HERE and Flutter By Wednesday HERE!

As always, THANK-YOU for stopping by, it's always nice to read your sweet comments.

WW #57 Snails and/or Stripes Reminder

Happy Saturday! This is just a quick reminder that you still have a few more days to join this week's Snails and/or Stripes challenge at Wicked Wednesday. For a little bit of incentive our sponsor, which is A & T Digital Designs is offering the cutest Boo and Snookie image as this week's prize.

I have to give credit where credit is due on this ATC...
the snail is from an inchie swap I was in on CMB a few years ago but it wasn't signed so I'm not sure who made it. This gorgeous background is from a wonderful step-by-step tutorial by Jen at Jen's Uncharted Territory and can be found at Just Some Lines challenge blog HERE.

I grumbled a bit while making this ATC  and learned that while trying a new technique it really does require reading all of the instructions,  not just randomly looking at pictures and thinking "I got it." Thankfully it only took a couple of tries until I was happy with the results.

As always, thanks for stopping by and taking the time to say Hi!

FBW #213 Open Challenge

This week's challenge at  Flutter By Wednesday is OPEN, which means as long as you have a fairy or butterfly on your project....it qualifies!

We are lucky to have A Day For Daisies as our sponsor this week who is generously offering a prize of a $12 gift certificate to their on-line store...maybe that's the incentive some of you need to play along?!!

I chose this adorable Snowflake Fairy image from ADFD to play along with and I really need to repeat this part...A.D.O.R.A.B.L.E!! This is one of those cards that went together way too quickly and I sat wondering why it was so easy? I'm really not sure why, I'm just glad that it did.

We'd love to have you join us this week, feel free to link up HERE! For more inspiration, while you're linking up you can see the wonderful cards my teamies came up...always some wonderful eye candy!

Macala is turning 10

Seems like it was just a couple of months ago that I was showing off a birthday card for our niece Macala....can it already be a year?!

I used  a couple of different clear stamp sets from TGF for this card,  Anya Celebrates was used for both the image and sentiment and the Sparking Season set was used to stamp the presents in the background.....look carefully because they were stamped in Angel Pink Momento ink. The background fits perfectly into this week's FFF challenge Stamp Your Own Background.

I'm also playing along with Kim Yu's November Sketch #10. It amazes me how quick and easy a card can go together when I'm working with a great sketch...but then I always say that about Kim's sketches.  If you haven't noticed I've also become a huge fan of this MME - Dolled Up double-sided DP...gotta love it!

As always, thanks for stopping by and leaving such sweet comments. I'm off to vote, finish the laundry, walk on the treadmill, and watch my taped episode of Bones from last night!

Don't limit yourself to hats and helments because this challenge also includes anything you put in your hair...such as headbands, flowers, crowns, feathers....or maybe you have another idea?!!

As soon as I heard this challenge I knew I wanted to use The Greeting Farm's Hello Ian for this reminder post because of his adorable hat...isn't he the cutest?!! For some reason this picture looks like I forgot to color part of his face, but it was colored....with E00 in fact!

Hope you can join us for this fun challenge. Feel free to link-up HERE and see the wonderful little creations my teamies have come us with...you won't be disappointed!

Baking Snowman Tag

Do you have a favorite time of day? Mine is in the morning after the kiddos go to school and I can sit back and enjoy a cuppa while taking a few minutes to think about my day and make my lists. I love my lists...just ask my family! This morning I decided to take a few minutes to combine a couple challenges, I only wish I had time to join more challenges but my lists seem to keep me overly busy!

With Christmas comes homemade goodies and how fun to add a handmade tag to go along with a couple of loaves of fresh baked breads or a tray of cookies...I also think this would be cute to use with a Hot Cocoa mix too! After paper piecing the apron, I used Copics to color this Baking Snowman image from Dilly Beans.  I then added some mesh bling, a stamped sentiment, and tied it all together with some tulle and twine.

Stamps
Dilly Beans: Baking Snowman
Bo Bunny: What you got cookin?
Stampabilities: Polka Dot Background

Challenges:
Dilly Beans: Anything Girl
The Kraft Journal: Bangles and Bows

Thanks for stopping by and leaving all of the comments that you do....just like home baked treats your comments are sweet and always appreciated.
