January GD @ Y&F Handmade/Challenge #8

Pinch me! It's true...I was asked to be the January GD for Yumi & Fumi Handmade...talk about A-dorable images which are so much fun to color and are perfect for so many different occasions. Even though it's not quite January, I was asked to make a little something for an introduction post at Y&FH and this is what I came up with.

I used Fumi with Fan for this card which is for Y&F Challenge #8 that goes until Jan 5th....you can use either Kim Yu's sketch and/or the color combo of red/camel/white...both of which are below.

Don't forget that you still have a few more days to save 20% on these fun and fabulous images...you can check them out HERE.

I thought I'd color up one more of these adorable SCRS images....I used the Ice Skating Chloe set, which includes both the image and this wonderful sentiment. CUTE!!!!

Once the image was colored, I started looking for a sketch when a paper copy of this sketch fell off the shelf above me (hmmm, should I organize the shelf?!)....not only is it a great sketch, but the colors matched my image perfectly! I pretty much cased everything from this fab Kim Yu sketch.

Journal #3 for Elyse

Thank goodness my shopping is done, all of the Christmas cards and packages have been mailed...and tomorrow will be dedicated to spending the entire day wrapping presents.  That leaves me with making cookies at the end of the week for a cookie exchange I'm heading to on Friday, then cleaning over the weekend.  I'm sure I can squeeze in a few hours to finish up on the last couple of journals I still need to make.

This journal is for our niece Elyse...she's energetic, athletic, independant, sweet, silly, and fun!

I used this week's sketch at Anyone for Anya and flipped it to show how I worked with it.  TGF's Soccer Anya was printed twice in orange and once in blue, with the blue Anya being fussy cut and centered between her two orange team mates. Because I printed the images in two different colors I didn't feel the need to color them...making for a quick and easy project.

This post is going to be short and sweet...as I've got those journals I mentioned earlier, along with a few other projects to work on. Thanks for stopping by and leaving such nice comments...they really do make my day.

Wicked Wednesday #62 Fairy Houses Reminder

It's time to put on your thinking caps, clip on some fairy wings, and sprinkle some glitter around the house because I'm betting you can come up with a wonderful and charming Fairy House  themed ATC!

Here's my take on this week's FAIRY HOUSE challenge that's going on at Wicked Wednesday. Our sponsor this week is A&T Digital Designs and they are offing the adorable Mushy House Mushroom image as this week's prize. I can't wait to see what you come up with, feel free to link-up HERE!

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and leave a comment, they are always appreciated.

Nativity Candy Wrappers

For some reason I've created numerous reasons for myself to craft this holiday season...I think it's because I decided a couple of months ago that I've spent my fair share of money on crafting supplies and I should use them more often.  That could be one of the reasons, but it could also be that I just like to create?!!

I needed a quick and inexpensive gift for a  handful of 7th graders who come to the house every Wednesday for CCD class, and as this week's class was the last one until after the new year I needed to make it pronto.   I grabbed some large sized Hershey Bars ($1.50 ea at Target) and my Cricut Inspired Heart cartridge and this is what I came up with:

I think the candy wrappers look plain in the pictures, but when you see them they shimmer and shine perfectly as glitter paper and Spica glitter pens were used in all the right places.

I used the Inspired Heart cartridge for the nativity silhouette and it's shadow, both were cut at 3.5".  Both sentiments were stamped using  Heartfelt Creations Wisemen Pre-cut set, and the star stamp is over 15 years old. Ribbon and raffia were added. I wanted these to look nice but didn't want to put too much time into making them because I knew the kids would really just want the chocolate...like a 13 year old would say no to chocolate?!!

I'm entering this post in the Anything Goes Challenge that's going on at The Kraft Journal.

Thanks for taking the time to stop, read, and leave a comment....it's nice to be among friends.

We'd love to see what you come up with for this fun challenge at Wicked Wednesday, feel free to link up HERE.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving all the sweet comments, they always put a smile on my face!

FBW #218 OPEN Challenge

This week's challenge at Flutter By Wednesday is OPEN, as are all of our December challenges...which is nice because it takes some of the pressure off of the DT, along with those of you who are still finding some crafty time during these busy December days. There is only one requirement for this challenge...that you have a butterfly and/or fairy on your project.

This is one of those rare cards where I chose the DP first and then colored the image...I should remember to do it this way more often. This gorgeous image is Dragonfly Flight by Elisabeth Bell and the DP is Miss Caroline by MME...it's like a match made in heaven.

I have a feeling the next couple of  days are going to fly by, but if you're able to get your craft on we'd love to have you join us this week, feel free to link up HERE!

Please scroll down or click HERE for SCRS Preview Day 2 - Happy New Year Emily
*****************************************

This is a quick reminder that you have until Tuesday evening for this week's Wicked Wednesday Wing-It challenge, which I know you're going to want to join. Why? Because our sponsor this week is Stampotique Originals and they are offering one random winner a $30 g/c to their on-line store. They have some of the most original images...you really must give them a look-see.

For myreminder ATC I used these adorable little piggies from coloring-pages.me, which were printed on Kraft paper and colored with Copics. The clouds and sentiment are from TGF Up, Up and Away set. Instead of coloring the piggies pink, I used dark pink and purple for their shadow for a twist.

Don't forget, you have until 7:00 pm Tuesday, feel free to link up HERE...we can't wait to see your mini creations!!!

LOL!

SCRS Preview of Chinese New Year Rin.

*************************************************

I think I warned all of you that I'm going to be keeping myself busy making journals for Christmas gifts this year, here is journal #2 that was made for my niece Michelina. Michele is a freshman at college this year who is creative, athletic, and down to earth....she is such a warm and inviting person,  she is the girl everyone wants as a friend.

TGF DTT challenge is It's a Rainbow,  which I had to join because there's something magical about prisms of color. Yes, those are violet highlights in Anya's hair!
Anyone For Anya has a Button challenge.

I'm going to show off a little bit and show you the charm I made that was inspired by these two challenges...I am soooooo happy with the way that it turned out. It started with wanting to make a charm out of buttons, but it needed some bulk....so I added beads. I'm not going to add this to Michele's journal because it makes it too busy looking with the patterned paper, instead I'm going to save it for another project down the road.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and leave such sweet comments, they really are appreciated.

Wicked Wednesday #61 Wing-it

****************************************************
Please scroll down for this week's Flutter By Wednesday OPEN challenge.
***************************************************

This week Wicked Wednesday is  being sponsored by Stampotique Originals. Stampotique is  offering a $30 g/c to their store to one lucky random winner, which is more than generous...wouldn't you say?!!

I used both, Medium Bee with Tiny Bee image and World All Her Own sentiment from Stampotique for this ATC. I colored the entire cardbase with watercolor pencils and then misted it. I stamped the smaller bees in green, the background dots in brown, and the sentiment in black. I then fussy-cut and pop-dotted the larger bee.

It goes without saying...we would LOVE for you to join us this week at Wicked Wednesday with your ATC entry, feel free to link up HERE.

Lastly, we were lucky to have the Stampotique DT join us in this challenge. Please take the time to check out the FABULOUS creations these girls have designed....I'm still picking my jaw off of the floor after seeing all of their wonderful artwork.

Enjoy what comes your way!

FBW #217 Open

At Flutter By Wednesday we know that December is usually busy and with keeping that in mind, we are leaving all of our weekly challenges OPEN this month...which means you can enter any project as long as you have a butterfly and/or fairy on it.

Our Sponsor this week is Di's Digi Downloads, and in the spirit of giving they are offering a $10 gift voucher to their on-line store....can you say Ho Ho Ho!!!

For this week's challenge I used the fabulous Juniper and Cecilia image from Michelle Perkett and paired it with Theresa Collins Fabrications DP. Mesh bling, a gorgeous flower, and some stamped leaves complete this card. Also, you might recognize this Deconstructed Sketch #69 from September...you can find all of Jen's sketches in her archive files HERE.

Deconstructed Sketch No. 69

I know schedules are getting tighter and crafting time might be harder to find during these hectic days, but if you can squeeze in a few minutes of card making....we'd love to have you join us this week at Flutter By Wednesday. Feel free to link up HERE.

SCRSC94 Snow Challenge

I felt like Christmas had come a little early when I was asked to be the December Guest Designer for Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps this month...not only do they have some of the cutest images, but I get to hang out with a very talented DT for a couple of weeks. If you haven't yet, check out their  fun challenge BLOG to see some of the talent and cute images I'm talking about.

Today starts their brand new SNOW Challenge that will run  for the next two weeks. I used the adorable SCRS Snow Bunny Lucy image...she is just too cute with her furry hat and hand muff. Are you someone that wishes pictures would show off glitter better too?!! I know I am! All of the fur has been glitterfied with Ritz Superfine Glitter in Nuance Chaude...which has a gorgeous gold undertone that adds an extra shiny touch to every project.

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your day and hope to see you joining us for this fun and SNOWy challenge!

Wicked Wednesday #60 Frame-it Reminder

After I printed Frida's Flower Headband (#339) by Dilly Beans on Kraft I decided to darken the framing a tad bit with my Sharpie. After coloring a few spots with a white gel penl, I then colored over some of the white with my Sakura Glaze Pens for a little pop of color. Lastly, I'm still lovin' mesh bling and am wondering why I haven't bought it in more colors yet.

Now don't forget, Stitchy Bear is our sponsor this week and they're offering a $10 certificate to their store to one lucky random winner! You have until 7:00 pm Tuesday evening to join us in this fun challenge at Wicked Wednesday....feel free to link up HERE. If you're looking for a little inspiration, don't forget to check out my fellow teamies ATC's...they always have something fun up their sleeves.

A Journal for Macala

In case you're wondering....what is my all-time favorite project to make? Banners! But second on my list is making journals...which is a good thing because I've decided to make journals for all of my nieces for Christmas this year. You might even get tired of seeing me post so many...but hopefully you won't?! LOL.

This is for my niece Macala who just turned 10 less than a month ago. She's into bright colors, fashion, dancing, glitter and TIARAS! The green tulle tied on the binding has glitter embedded in it and when Macala come over in October for our annual rib-fest she was playing in my craft area, swirling and twirling all night with strands of this tulle...leaving a mixture of glitter and dust floating in the air for days. I couldn't help but laugh and cry at the same time....there was glitter EVERYWHERE!

How awesome that I won this adorable Bean from TGF a couple of weeks ago and it just arrived yesterday...after inking it up this morning I couldn't wait to multi-color her hair....ADORABLE! I also made a charm using beads and TH fragments...a girl can never have too many fragments!

The sketch on the cover of the journal is by Kathy Curry and I've used it before a couple of times, the simplicity of the sketch is what works so well.

Challenges:
Yumi & Fumi Handmade:    Use ribbon or lace
Anyone for Anya: No patterned paper
Simon Says Stamp: Anything goes
Use It Tuesday: Ink it up finally

Thanks for stopping by and leaving such nice comments, they always warm my heart!

Wicked Wednesday #60 Frame-it

Please scroll down for this week's FBW #216 Punch-It challenge

*********************************************

Our sponsor at Wicked Wednesday this week is Stitchy Bear and they gave us quite a few images to choose from for this week's FRAME-IT challenge. I chose this wonderful flower frame and after coloring it, I glued it on top of silver metallic cardstock....hoping for a mirror effect which resulted in the Mirror, Miror on the wall sentiment.

You have until 7:00 pm next Tuesday evening to join us in this fun challenge, feel free to link up HERE...we'd love to have you join us. Don't forget to let me know if you do play along, I'd love to stop by your blog and see your mini creations!

Flutter By Wednesday #216 - Punch It!

This week's challenge at Flutter By Wednesday is to pull out your punches and PUNCH IT! What a great way to relieve some holiday stress, right?!! LOL! Well...maybe not, but it's a great way to put those punches to use. I don't own a lot of shape punches except for a few circles, squares, and butterflies...along with a handful of border punches. I wish I had a few more and always think I'm going to buy another one when they're 40% off... but then I start to think about it and realize that I almost always use the first 2 or 3 border punches I bought, so why spend the money?!

I used Bugaboo's Ava Mistletoe Fairy image,  along with my EK Success Pointed Flower Edged Punch. The ornament die is from Spellbinders, and the paper is from an older K&Co 12x12 pad. I wish you could see just how pretty this card really is...I think this is one of my favorites.

You have an entire week to join us for the PUNCH IT challenge, feel free to link up HERE! Don't forget to check out the wonderful projects my teamies came up with this week...they always inspire me. Sadly, our fellow teamie Kristie is leaving her DT post this week....we'll miss her, and wish her only the best!.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving all of the sweet comments that you do...they always put a smile on my face!

Wicked Wednesday #59 Mythical Creatures Reminder

Meet Clyde, he's a digi image from Bugaboo...isn't he A-dorable?!!! The castle is a coloring page download that I found on Google images. This ATC reminds me of the movie Dragonheart...with Dennis Quaid and Sean Connery's voice as Draco, my kiddos will still pop in the video (yes, video!) every once in a while and watch it...it's a great boy movie.

This is a quick reminder that you have until next Tuesday evening to join us at Wicked Wednesday for this fun and Mythical Creatures challenge....feel free to link up HERE!
As always, thanks for taking the time to stop by and leave such sweet comments...they really do make my day.

Christmas Wishes

A great sketch can make a great card and this fabulous Anyone for Anya's November sketch helped to make this one easy-peasy card! After stamping TGF's Sparkling Season Clear Stamp Set on Kraft and basic white cardstock...I fussy cut the banners and colored them with Copics. I added some glittered brads, bling, and a flower. I told you...EASY!

Challenges:
Anyone for Anya:November Sketch
The Kraft Journal: Holiday Cards

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and say Hi, it's always appreciated.

Wicked Wednesday #59 Mythical Creatures

****************************************
Please scroll down for this week's FBW SKETCH challenge.
****************************************
Our sponsor for the Mythical Creatures challenge this week at Wicked Wednesday is Delicious Doodles, they are offering 4 images of choice from their online store to one random winner. There were just too many choices for this theme. and I found it hard to choose just one...

I colored this stunning Black Pearl Mermaid image with Copics, added black pearls with a Viva Decor Paper Pen, and Stickled her tail. Actually, I didn't like the look of the Stickles as it was drying so I scraped them off of the image....leaving a very glittery and iridescent tail.

It goes with out saying....we would love to have you join us this week for this fun and mythical challange! Feel free to link up to Wicked Wednesday HERE, and wait until you see what my fellow teamies came up with....all I can say is WOWZA!

Thanks for stopping by and to those who celebrate Thanksgiving...enjoy, relax, feast, give thanks!
Happy Thanksgiving!

FBW #215 Sketch by Kathy

This week's challenge at Flutter By Wednesday is to use this wonderful sketch by our own Sketch Designer Kathy Curry. If you've never tried one of her sketches I have to tell you, they are easy to work with and ALWAYS have wonderful results.

This sketch along with a butterfly and/or fairy....that's all you need to join us this week!

I decided to use Kathy's sketch to make a little notebook for myself because I was having trouble keeping track of some of my favorite weekly challenges and DT obligations....I know an on-line calendar works nicely, but I'm one who has to actually write it down to remember it. That's what this was made for....I love it and use it almost daily, I really like knowing I'm keeping everything in one place.

I'm such a fan of Michele Perkett's digi images and used her wonderful Lily the Fairy Enchantment image for this week's challenge. The DP is from Theresa Collin's Fabrication line and MME's _?_ line.  I used my BIA to bind the 4.25" x 5.5" pages and made a page marker with ribbon and a butterfly charm.  And if you can image...lots of glitter in all the right places.

You have until next Tuesday Evening to join us in this fun challenge, feel free to link up HERE...and don't forget to check out how my teamies used this wonderful sketch....you will be inspired.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have a happy and blessed Thanksgiving!

Wicked Wednesday - Thankful Reminder

After stamping this fabulous sentiment (which came from M's $1 bin) with Versamark,  I used white embossing powder and heat set it. The edges of this Little Darlings DP by Graphic 45 were inked and a couple of blinged out leaves were added.

Don't forget that you have until next Tuesday evening to join us at Wicked Wednesday with a THANKFUL themed ATC. To help encourage you, our sponsor Dilly Beans is offering one lucky, yet random winner the chance to win one digi stamp of their choice. If you haven't had the chance to check out Dilly Beans I strongly encourage you to...HERE!

Happy, blessed, and ever thankful....that's me!.
