Coloful Anya

I thought I'd play along with a couple of my favorite challenge blogs when making this card for our God-daughter's upcoming birthday. Here's the inspiration photo Anyone For Anya posted for their Colorful Photo challenge.

I used Anya Lifts and colored her hair a gorgeous shade of purple for TGF's FFF Getting Wiggy With It challenge. I LOVE this challenge because it requires any TGF image colored with non-traditional hair colors...it's a little out of the box and a fun challenge!

In keeping with the inspiration photo I tried to use the 3 main colors I saw...yellow, blue, and purple. I think this fun and colorful leopard DP is a great choice and makes for some adorable balloons.

Speaking of balloons....the hubs and I went out to eat last night with some good friends and we went to a wonderful restaurant along the Fox River. All four of us agreed that it was the nicest evening of the summer, so we decide to sit in the outside dining area. Good food, great friends, and an unexpected hot-air balloon passing by.

I hope your day is filled with unexpected surprises!

Anya Celebrates

It seems forever since I colored one of my Anya's and I was missing her so!

I had a few extra minutes today and thought I'd join in this week's FFF Message Me challenge at TGF, along with AYFA's Damask challenges using Anya Celebrates.

Journal #3 for Elyse

Thank goodness my shopping is done, all of the Christmas cards and packages have been mailed...and tomorrow will be dedicated to spending the entire day wrapping presents.  That leaves me with making cookies at the end of the week for a cookie exchange I'm heading to on Friday, then cleaning over the weekend.  I'm sure I can squeeze in a few hours to finish up on the last couple of journals I still need to make.

This journal is for our niece Elyse...she's energetic, athletic, independant, sweet, silly, and fun!

I used this week's sketch at Anyone for Anya and flipped it to show how I worked with it.  TGF's Soccer Anya was printed twice in orange and once in blue, with the blue Anya being fussy cut and centered between her two orange team mates. Because I printed the images in two different colors I didn't feel the need to color them...making for a quick and easy project.

This post is going to be short and sweet...as I've got those journals I mentioned earlier, along with a few other projects to work on. Thanks for stopping by and leaving such nice comments...they really do make my day.

Journal #2

Please scroll down or click HERE for today's
SCRS Preview of Chinese New Year Rin.

*************************************************

I think I warned all of you that I'm going to be keeping myself busy making journals for Christmas gifts this year, here is journal #2 that was made for my niece Michelina. Michele is a freshman at college this year who is creative, athletic, and down to earth....she is such a warm and inviting person,  she is the girl everyone wants as a friend.

TGF DTT challenge is It's a Rainbow,  which I had to join because there's something magical about prisms of color. Yes, those are violet highlights in Anya's hair!
Anyone For Anya has a Button challenge.

I'm going to show off a little bit and show you the charm I made that was inspired by these two challenges...I am soooooo happy with the way that it turned out. It started with wanting to make a charm out of buttons, but it needed some bulk....so I added beads. I'm not going to add this to Michele's journal because it makes it too busy looking with the patterned paper, instead I'm going to save it for another project down the road.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and leave such sweet comments, they really are appreciated.

A Journal for Macala

In case you're wondering....what is my all-time favorite project to make? Banners! But second on my list is making journals...which is a good thing because I've decided to make journals for all of my nieces for Christmas this year. You might even get tired of seeing me post so many...but hopefully you won't?! LOL.

This is for my niece Macala who just turned 10 less than a month ago. She's into bright colors, fashion, dancing, glitter and TIARAS! The green tulle tied on the binding has glitter embedded in it and when Macala come over in October for our annual rib-fest she was playing in my craft area, swirling and twirling all night with strands of this tulle...leaving a mixture of glitter and dust floating in the air for days. I couldn't help but laugh and cry at the same time....there was glitter EVERYWHERE!

How awesome that I won this adorable Bean from TGF a couple of weeks ago and it just arrived yesterday...after inking it up this morning I couldn't wait to multi-color her hair....ADORABLE! I also made a charm using beads and TH fragments...a girl can never have too many fragments!

The sketch on the cover of the journal is by Kathy Curry and I've used it before a couple of times, the simplicity of the sketch is what works so well.

Challenges:
Yumi & Fumi Handmade:    Use ribbon or lace
Anyone for Anya: No patterned paper
Simon Says Stamp: Anything goes
Use It Tuesday: Ink it up finally

Thanks for stopping by and leaving such nice comments, they always warm my heart!

Christmas Wishes

A great sketch can make a great card and this fabulous Anyone for Anya's November sketch helped to make this one easy-peasy card! After stamping TGF's Sparkling Season Clear Stamp Set on Kraft and basic white cardstock...I fussy cut the banners and colored them with Copics. I added some glittered brads, bling, and a flower. I told you...EASY!

Challenges:

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and say Hi, it's always appreciated.

Wicked Wednesday - Based on a Character Reminder

This is a quick reminder that you have until 7:00 pm next Tuesday evening to join in our Based on a Character challenge that's going on at Wicked Wednesday. When I was looking through my stamps for this reminder I ran across TGF Cheeky Kitty digi and instantly thought about the latest Batman release, which is a great movie...didn't Anne Hathaway look spectacular in her catsuit?!!

I copy, pasted, and Glossy Accented the Batman logo. The DP is SEI Spooks and Theresa Collins Fabrications. A little mesh bling, some Viva Paper Pens dots around the edges and wahlah...a character! I even added that fabulous pearl necklace that Selina/Catwoman wore so elequently.

I'm also entering this in the challenge at Anyone for Anya: Let's Go to the Movies.  I thought the TH filmstrip was appropriate.

I really should pay more attention to challenge due dates as the sketch I used was TGFSC31 on SCS and was designed by Eva, and sadly this particular challenge closed last night. This is a great sketch to work with and as you can tell, I flipped the picture to show how I worked with it.

And a quick look at the inside...simple, but cute.

It's your turn to get your character "on" and join us over at Wicked Wednesday, hope to see you there!

Latte Anya

Scroll down for today's Wicked Wednesday challenge reminder:
Black & White, and One Other Color

******************************************************

My new TGF Latte Anya arrived a couple of days ago, just in time for me to make a quick post-it/gift-card holder for the Anything...but a card challenge that's going on at Anyone for Anya.

On Thursday I had 20 minutes to spare while waiting for my son to finish one of his after-school activities, so I went to the Joanne's that was close-by and found a package of decorative post-its for 50 cents. How cool that the package had 2 pads of post-its in it? I found a matching package of file folders (2 per package also) for another 50 cents. So....for $1, I was able to make two of these adorable post/gift-card holders...and I still have 1 ununsed file folder!

Thanks for stopping by, your comments always make me smile!

NOW is the time

Remember all those times you've said to yourself, "When pigs fly!"
Well....NOW is the time, and the pigs are flying, lol.

The FFF challenge at TGF is Paper Piecing this week, so I used this adorable image from The Sky's the Limit set along with a few scraps I had laying around for all of the pp....even the clouds have been pp.

This wonderful sketch is from Kim Yu's August Sketch #7 challenge and super easy to work with. I've actually made another card using this sketch but am holding off posting it...for a week or two, lol.

Lastly, over at the Anyone For Anya challenge they are looking for a card/project that is Inspired by Time and to be honest, it took me a few minutes to come up with this sentiment but once I did, it all fell into place quickly using some old alpha stickers and my Dymo label maker.

The DP is from the SEI Poppy line which,IMHO is a stunning line of paper. The clock was stamped with an older Recollections set then Glossy Accented, the balloons have a coating of GA also. I added a couple of stick pins, ribbon, and faux stitching to finish it off.

My favorite thing about this entire card? The pink ribbon and rick-rack
My least favorite thing? I shouldn't have glittered the clouds

Thanks for stopping by, it's always fun to sit with a cuppa and read your wonderful comments.

Happy Birthday Angela!

Today is Angela's birthday, she is my hubs god-daughter and one of the craftiest 11 year olds I know! She just completed making her halloween dress out of duct tape and is now contemplating the accessories she's going to make for it. CUTE!!

Thank goodness my newest purchase from TGF Anya Celebrates arrived just in time for me to make a quick and simple tag for her. This was colored with watercolor pencils because I don't own any of the Primsacolor pencils, but I am seriously considering purchasing a few because I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the look of colored pencils on Kraft.

Anya Cool

I was finally able to find a few crafty minutes, which of late hasn't been too easy. On top of trying to find a little crafting time our cable, internet, and phones have had sporadic service and I never know if one or all three are going to be working when I go to use them...ho hum!

Anya, her clothes, sunglasses, ice-cream cones, and sentiment are all from TGF's Dress-up Anya/Ian...which are retired sets but I was able to buy at one of TGF's Farmer's Market, such a deal! All the DP's are left over scraps which I love to use up...but end up never having enough DP for the inside of the card, lOL!

Challenges:
TGF: Dies and/or Punches
Anyone For Anya: Last Summer Fling

Deconstructed Jen: Sketch 62

Happy 13th Birthday Dario

Today is the day my youngest is officially a teenager....he's 13! He's a great kid with a wonderful and loving sense of humor, and has worked really hard to be where he's at...but gosh, does he ever keep us on our toes!

Like most of the teens these days, he loves his hoodies...so using Logan from TGF was a perfect choice when making his card. I think this card qualifies as CAS...just like Dario who likes to keep his things neat and organized, and without a lot of clutter. Just make sure to come back in a couple of years and ask me about his "clean room" after he's had a few years experience of really being a teenager, lol!

Challenges:
Anyone For Anya: Simple Sketch Sunday
The Greeting Farm: July Retro-Stars & Stripes

Stamps:
TGF: Logan
Technique Tuesday: Sentiment

Thanks for stopping by, I hope your day is as happy and joyful as mine was 13 years ago!

A couple of cards/challenges in one post!

It's the 4th of July and this is my 2nd post for the day...I'm just trying to get these posted/entered in time before some of the challenges end, as lately I've made cards and have forgotten to post them for the challenges I made them for...DOH!

I did get the chance to make this card for our niece who turned 12 over the past weekend...don't you just love the sas on TGF's Creeper Leslie! I couldn't believe my luck at how well the birthday brads matched as they've been sitting in my stash for a good couple of years. I'm entering this in the
Anyone For Anya: Just Use It challenge.

My second card had me saying Grrrrrrrr! Have you ever bought a crafting tool and wondered why you bought it?!! That was me while I was trying to get this card finished for an 80th birthday party were heading to in a few hours. I know why I bought my Provocraft Gypsy, but wish I would use it more often so I wouldn't forget the basics on how to use it...such as welding and contour hiding. I had a couple of hours to get this done...simple, right?!! I mean, all I wanted to do was weld 8 and 0 together, and again in Shadow. I sat down to watch a youTube 101 tutorial for the Gypsy and the girl said, "press this pretty little button...." Grrrr! Not what I wanted to hear at the time! All in all....my Gypsy survived my little temper tantrum and I have vowed to use it more frequently from here on out!

The number 80 was cut and pop-dotted a couple of times and the image inside the 0 was stamped and wet embossed. The sentiment says Happy Birthday in Italian...perfect for a man who travels back to visit his relatives in Italy every year. I'm entering this in Here Come the Boys: Metal and/or Embossing challenge.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving such sweet comments, it's always fun to hear from those who share my love for ink and paper!

NINE!!!

That's right....I said, "NINE!"
Which means I have NINE graduation cards to make this year! Four are done....only five more to go!

For the Kraft Journal I dry embossed a few of the stars which were cut in Kraft. I also inked a CB embossing folder with black Archival Ink before dry embossing the YOU DID IT, then I quickly sprinkled and melted clear embossing powder over the ink...a double embossing whammy!

For TGF I used the digi Graduation Anya and stiched around the base of the card in black. A while back one of the Farmer's said they used white thread and colored it with their Copics to get the color they wanted and I thought....how would you do that if it's already on the card, wouldn't it make a mess?!! Hmmm, after some thought I decided to leave the thread on the spool but pulled out as much as I thought would be needed to go around the card. I then colored it with my black Copic and rewound it back onto the spool. Great idea! Now I can have all the matching thread that I want!

For Anyone For Anya I used the digi Graduation Anya and used circles in a couple of different places.

Challenges:
The Kraft Journal: Emboss & Embellish
TGF: Farm Fresh Friday - Stitching
AYA: Get a ROUND to it!

Mother's Day

Aaaack, I really am late in making this card for my mom for Mother's Day, but my saving grace is I'm not going to see her until Thursday and she won't have a clue as to when this was made for her. I have to say that at times like this I'm glad my mother doesn't use her computer for anything except solitaire?!!

This card went together really quick and I think it's due to the fact that I used Indie Chic double-sided DP by MME and went for a CAS look. At least I think it's CAS because that's a style I seldom attempt, probably because of my deep love for embellishments.

Stamps:
TGF: Cheeky Cherry Pie
TGF: Tea-rrific

Glimmer Bean

I just couldn't help myself and had to use the fab May sketch by Kim Yu again...it is so easy to work with and has fabulous results! I broke down and bought the new Glimmer Bean by TGF...I have been wanting to color her hair for sooooooooooooo long...ever since I saw her, I mean...how cute is this girlie's hair?!! LOL!

All the DP's are scraps from a friend's house that I was cropping at this weekend. The pearls and lace are by Recollections, and the brad was in my stash. Glimmer Bean was colored with Copics and I used Atyou Spicas to outline all the different colors of her hair...she really does sparkle!

Challenges:
Anyone for Anya: Something Lacy
Kim Yu: May Sketch
