SCRS Sale and Ice Skating Chloe

Being the December Guest DT at Sparkle Creations  has flown by, and it's been lot's of fun coloring these fabulous images...THANKS to Sparkle and the DT for being so warm and welcoming! Don't forget that you still have a few more days to save 20% on these fun and fabulous images...you can check them out HERE.

I thought I'd color up one more of these adorable SCRS images....I used the Ice Skating Chloe set, which includes both the image and this wonderful sentiment. CUTE!!!!

Once the image was colored, I started looking for a sketch when a paper copy of this sketch fell off the shelf above me (hmmm, should I organize the shelf?!)....not only is it a great sketch, but the colors matched my image perfectly! I pretty much cased everything from this fab Kim Yu sketch.

Macala is turning 10

Seems like it was just a couple of months ago that I was showing off a birthday card for our niece Macala....can it already be a year?!

I used  a couple of different clear stamp sets from TGF for this card,  Anya Celebrates was used for both the image and sentiment and the Sparking Season set was used to stamp the presents in the background.....look carefully because they were stamped in Angel Pink Momento ink. The background fits perfectly into this week's FFF challenge Stamp Your Own Background.

I'm also playing along with Kim Yu's November Sketch #10. It amazes me how quick and easy a card can go together when I'm working with a great sketch...but then I always say that about Kim's sketches.  If you haven't noticed I've also become a huge fan of this MME - Dolled Up double-sided DP...gotta love it!

As always, thanks for stopping by and leaving such sweet comments. I'm off to vote, finish the laundry, walk on the treadmill, and watch my taped episode of Bones from last night!

Flutter By Wednesday- #207 Open Challenge

This week's challenge at Flutter By Wednesday is OPEN, which means there is one simple rule....you can enter any card and/or project as long as they have a butterfly or fairy on them...this is a challenge blog about fluttery things after all!

I chose this gorgeous image called HERMOSA which was designed by Megan Suarez for Dilo En Espanol....you can find it HERE. All DP is from the Fabrications line by Theresa Collins and what a fabulous line of double-sided paper this is, all of my favorite colors are in one pad!! The velvet flower is from Maya Road and was Glimmer Misted in a deeper purple hue. The sentiment is from a Technique Tuesday clear birthday set. The entire white background has been glitterflied...I sure wish it showed up because all of that super-fine glitter is the "WOW" factor on this card.

I also used Kim Yu's #8 September Sketch and I should warn you that once you use one of Kim's wonderful sketches you will keep using them because you always end up with stunning results.

It's your turn to create something fun and fluttery for this week's OPEN challenge, you can upload your project HERE. I'd love to stop by your blog and see what you created, let me know if you do!

NOW is the time

Remember all those times you've said to yourself, "When pigs fly!"
Well....NOW is the time, and the pigs are flying, lol.

The FFF challenge at TGF is Paper Piecing this week, so I used this adorable image from The Sky's the Limit set along with a few scraps I had laying around for all of the pp....even the clouds have been pp.

This wonderful sketch is from Kim Yu's August Sketch #7 challenge and super easy to work with. I've actually made another card using this sketch but am holding off posting it...for a week or two, lol.

Lastly, over at the Anyone For Anya challenge they are looking for a card/project that is Inspired by Time and to be honest, it took me a few minutes to come up with this sentiment but once I did, it all fell into place quickly using some old alpha stickers and my Dymo label maker.

The DP is from the SEI Poppy line which,IMHO is a stunning line of paper. The clock was stamped with an older Recollections set then Glossy Accented, the balloons have a coating of GA also. I added a couple of stick pins, ribbon, and faux stitching to finish it off.

My favorite thing about this entire card? The pink ribbon and rick-rack
My least favorite thing? I shouldn't have glittered the clouds

Thanks for stopping by, it's always fun to sit with a cuppa and read your wonderful comments.

Glimmer Bean

I just couldn't help myself and had to use the fab May sketch by Kim Yu again...it is so easy to work with and has fabulous results! I broke down and bought the new Glimmer Bean by TGF...I have been wanting to color her hair for sooooooooooooo long...ever since I saw her, I mean...how cute is this girlie's hair?!! LOL!

All the DP's are scraps from a friend's house that I was cropping at this weekend. The pearls and lace are by Recollections, and the brad was in my stash. Glimmer Bean was colored with Copics and I used Atyou Spicas to outline all the different colors of her hair...she really does sparkle!

Challenges:
Anyone for Anya: Something Lacy
Kim Yu: May Sketch

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to leave all the sweet comments, they always make me smile!

Birthday wishes with Kiyoko/Anderson Gardens

Oh my...spring cleaning, an out-of-town guest, and extra days at work have kept me busy and away from my computer for the past couple of weeks! But finally this morning I was able to sneak downstairs for a few hours to my craft area and combine a couple of my favorite challenge blogs into a card, and this is what I came up with.

The image I used is Kiyoko from Sister Stamps and colored with Copics, isn't she the cutest?! The sketch I used is by Kim Yu who started posting monthly sketch challenges on her blog at the beginning of this year, and it really is true when I tell you that each and every one of her sketches have stunning results....I always look forward to the beginning of every month to see what she comes up with. The DP is by American Crafts, along with origami paper. The Kenji words are from Hero Arts. The cherry blossoms are from I Am Roses and were left in their original creamy/white color. The Asian brad is from Recollections. Would it surprise you if I said the sparklers are heavily laddened with Atyou Spica Glitter pens?

Stamps:
Sister Stamps: Kiyoko
Hero Arts: Tiny Chinese Wishes
Hero Arts: Chinese Happiness Wish

Challenges:
The Kraft Journal: Use Any Sketch
Simon Says: Birthday Celebrations

Kim Yu: May Sketch

Remember I said I had out-of-town company for a couple of days? I took my friend to see the Anderson Japanese Gardens in Rockford while she was here and because the weather has been unseasonably warm this spring, we were able to enjoy the early blooms!
