WW #113 Charmed

Has anyone else been having trouble leaving blogger comments from their phone?
******************
We have a wonderful challenge starting at Wicked Wednesday....all you have to do is have a charm on your ATC. Our sponsor is Delicious Doodles and they generously provided the entire DT with a couple of images....I chose this fabulous skull wreath digi.

The image was fussy cut, then several layers of pine boughs were added behind it....along with some dripping blood. The eyes were colored red and transparent Viva Paper Pen was applied. I thought this skullie would work like a charm (hee hee) to fulfill the challenge obligation.

You have until 7:00 pm EST next Tuesday evening to join us at Wicked Wednesday, you can link your ATC HERE.

******************
Flutter By Wednesday will be having OPEN challenges each Wednesday through the month of December....which means anything goes as long as you have a butterfly or fairy on your project. You can read all the details and upload your projects HERE.

I will not be partaking in the FBW challenges during December....life and family have taken the spotlight this month. I am doing my best to leave comments on blogs but am becoming frustrated with the blogger app on my phone as it will only let me (painstakingly) type comments...but won't let me post them.

FBW #261 Open

This week's challenge at Flutter By Wednesday is OPEN...just make sure you have a butterfly or fairy on your project. I used the stunning Lilly Fairy of Enchantment image by Michele Perkett for my tag, and as detailed as this image is, it was quite easy to color.

I have been planning on making a HOLIDAY PLANNER for a friend and had the inserts printed and pre-cut...ready and waiting for the day I had a few extra minutes to work on it. This is what I came up with...

DP: K&Co
Ink: Momento, Copics, Marvy LePlume
Pocket Planner free printable from OrganizedChristmas.com

Behind the tag is a freebie notepad that came in the mail a couple of weeks ago

Handmade tags are included

Inchies from a 3 yr old swap were put on the back of the tags,
a small envelope was made from vellum using ZooBalloo

Jingle bells attached to a clip for receipts and misc. items

FBW #229 Layers Challenge

Flutter By Wednesday is all about LAYERS this week!!!! 3 or more layers is what you need, not counting the base of your card.....oh, and don't forget to have a butterfly or fairy on your project.

DP: Paper Studio, Kraft
Copics, Twine, Roses, Viva Decor Paper Pearl Pen, Diamond Dust, punches

I don't normally ooh and aah when I make a card, but I just couldn't help myself because these are just the sweetest fairies! I've loved them ever since the  Fairy Princess Clear Stamp Set from The Greeting Farm first came out, and always enjoy coloring and making a card with them.  I also used Jen Shults' DS90 for the sketch.

I'm extra giddy because I got to use a new chevron background stamp from Just Rite Stamps, along with a new round sentiment stamp from Whimsy Stamps...both were from a Valentine's swap and were from Wendy...LOVE THEM!!!

Feel free to link your project to Flutter By Wednesday HERE...and just wait until you see the wonderful cards my fellow teamies came up with, always inspirational!!!!

Challenges:
Paper Playtime:  #4 Use a Sentiment Stamp
The Kraft Journal: Use Any Sketch
Deconstructed Jen: DS90

Happy Wednesday!

Baking Snowman Tag

Do you have a favorite time of day? Mine is in the morning after the kiddos go to school and I can sit back and enjoy a cuppa while taking a few minutes to think about my day and make my lists. I love my lists...just ask my family! This morning I decided to take a few minutes to combine a couple challenges, I only wish I had time to join more challenges but my lists seem to keep me overly busy!

With Christmas comes homemade goodies and how fun to add a handmade tag to go along with a couple of loaves of fresh baked breads or a tray of cookies...I also think this would be cute to use with a Hot Cocoa mix too! After paper piecing the apron, I used Copics to color this Baking Snowman image from Dilly Beans.  I then added some mesh bling, a stamped sentiment, and tied it all together with some tulle and twine.

Stamps
Dilly Beans: Baking Snowman
Bo Bunny: What you got cookin?
Stampabilities: Polka Dot Background

Challenges:
Dilly Beans: Anything Girl
The Kraft Journal: Bangles and Bows

Thanks for stopping by and leaving all of the comments that you do....just like home baked treats your comments are sweet and always appreciated.

Birthday wishes with Kiyoko/Anderson Gardens

Oh my...spring cleaning, an out-of-town guest, and extra days at work have kept me busy and away from my computer for the past couple of weeks! But finally this morning I was able to sneak downstairs for a few hours to my craft area and combine a couple of my favorite challenge blogs into a card, and this is what I came up with.

The image I used is Kiyoko from Sister Stamps and colored with Copics, isn't she the cutest?! The sketch I used is by Kim Yu who started posting monthly sketch challenges on her blog at the beginning of this year, and it really is true when I tell you that each and every one of her sketches have stunning results....I always look forward to the beginning of every month to see what she comes up with. The DP is by American Crafts, along with origami paper. The Kenji words are from Hero Arts. The cherry blossoms are from I Am Roses and were left in their original creamy/white color. The Asian brad is from Recollections. Would it surprise you if I said the sparklers are heavily laddened with Atyou Spica Glitter pens?

Stamps:
Sister Stamps: Kiyoko
Hero Arts: Tiny Chinese Wishes
Hero Arts: Chinese Happiness Wish

Challenges:
The Kraft Journal: Use Any Sketch
Simon Says: Birthday Celebrations
Paper Playtime: #73 Anything Goes
Totally Paper Crafts: #114 Saturated Colors
Kim Yu: May Sketch

Remember I said I had out-of-town company for a couple of days? I took my friend to see the Anderson Japanese Gardens in Rockford while she was here and because the weather has been unseasonably warm this spring, we were able to enjoy the early blooms!

Walking along the paths/grounds:

Raked sand in front of the head landscaper's home:

Gorgeous gardens, right?!! As always, thanks for stopping by and leaving all the sweet comments that you do...they make me smile!

SPRING Banner

Here's a banner I made to celebrate SPRING...light, bright, and pastel-ly-ish!

I started by using my Sizzix Banner Pendant dies, both the Plain and Scallop sets with white cardstock and kraft paper. Then I sewed the DP onto each pennant using a zig-zag stitch.

I love the siloutte shapes on A Childs Year cartridge and decided to put one on each end, along with the little girl holding a basket in the center...all were cut at 5 inches. I shadowed all 3 images and popped them. I cut each flower three times and used Kraft paper for the final layer for a makeshift shadow as the ICON images on the ACY cart doesn't have a shadow feature. I cut the duck three times and popped each layer, then added a googly eye.

The word SPRING was cut using the Feeling Groovy cartridge and I used my all-time favorite feature on most cartridges...the shadow feature, lol! I then ran all the letters through my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots embossing folders.

The butterflies are from two different MS punches and I used Viva Pearl Pens to add the pearl dots on the inside of each butterfly.

After adding a couple sequined flower embellishments onto the flowers, I ran tulle and a string of pink pearls through the holes I punched at the corner of each pendant and tied a loose knot in the tulle at each end of the banner. I think the Tulle adds softness to the banner and is perfect for hanging it too!

Here's the entire banner:

It just dawned on me that I didn't use any ink on this project...I seriously think that this is a first for me!

Challenges:
My Kraft Journal: Celebrate Spring or Easter
Paper Playtime: #71 April Showers

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and visit and/or leave a comment...both are appreciated and brighten my day!
