FBW #261 Open

This week's challenge at Flutter By Wednesday is OPEN...just make sure you have a butterfly or fairy on your project. I used the stunning Lilly Fairy of Enchantment image by Michele Perkett for my tag, and as detailed as this image is, it was quite easy to color.

I have been planning on making a HOLIDAY PLANNER for a friend and had the inserts printed and pre-cut...ready and waiting for the day I had a few extra minutes to work on it. This is what I came up with...

DP: K&Co
Ink: Momento, Copics, Marvy LePlume
Pocket Planner free printable from OrganizedChristmas.com

Behind the tag is a freebie notepad that came in the mail a couple of weeks ago

Handmade tags are included

Inchies from a 3 yr old swap were put on the back of the tags,
a small envelope was made from vellum using ZooBalloo

Jingle bells attached to a clip for receipts and misc. items

Y&FH #26 Anything Goes Reminder

Happy Sunday! A couple of weeks ago I made an ATC with Daisy from the Great Gatsby in mind, and today I'm sharing a tag that features Chase from Yumi & Fumi Handmade colored and embellished as her romantic and hopelessly obsessed lover, Jay Gatsby.

As I traveled back and forth to my parents house this summer I would listen to The Great Gatsby on tape and envisioned Jay Gatsby walking into the room with his "white suit, gray shirt, and gold tie." I'm not sure if I was hoping for Jay Gatsby or Leonardo DiCaprio to be the one to enter the room,  either way, here is my version him.

Halloween Tag

A question was posed to me the other day...what do I do with all of the tags I make? Most of them are used as tags, but with the finished size almost always being 3 1/4" x 6 1/4" I have lots of room to make them into projects.  I decided to turn this darling tag into a mini-accordion book.

The scroll fence image was stamped at a friend's house a couple of years ago and has been sitting in my Halloween stash....same for the sentiment. The digi image is Hallo Bride by The Greeting Farm. All faux stitching is from the Sew Special Crafty Secrets clear stamp set.
.

I added journaling tags, twinchies, stickers, images, embellies, and tulle. One of my favorite things about this mini are the stickers which were leftovers from my work place a couple of years ago. Even though they were freebies to everyone who visited my cart during the cold and flu season, not even the kiddos wanted these Mucinex Man stickers. Think about it....think about it....now say, "GROSS!!!!" I'm more than happy to pass a few of these stickers on, lol!

Most of the DP was gifted to me last year and is Jenni Bowlin and Paper Studio, actually most of the embellies and sentiments have been gifted over the years. I love decorating and creating for Halloween yet seldom buy items for it.

CHALLENGES
Anything But a Card: #28 Orange and Black
My Sherie Crafts: #120 Stitch Time (I hope faux stitching is okay!)
Stamp & Create: October - Fall or Halloween
The Greeeting Farm: FFF - Terrific Tags

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and leave such sweet comments, they always make my day.

Happy Sunday! Today's post is to remind you that there are still have a few more days to join the current challenge that's going on right now at Y&FH....which is their Back to School challenge.

Fumi with Messenger Bag was used to make this 3" x 6" tag. Lots of embellies were stamped and fussy cut using an older JoAnn's brand school set, and the apples were cut using my Cricut.

FBW's HB 2 Danni Blog Hop

After a 2 month hiatus it's nice to be fluttering with Flutter By Wednesday again, and it looks like I'm just in time because today is the second day of a 2 day fluttery blog hop celebrating Danni's (owner/creator of FBW) birthday! Yesterday a group of her friends got together for a hop...can you say AMAZING?! If you missed it, be sure to visit the Flutter By Wednesday for all the information.

Today is the FBW Design Team's turn to inspire you!!

You should have fluttered here from Chrissy's blog, if not--you might want to start at the beginning of the hop which begins at the Flutter By Wednesday blog, and don't forget to leave a comment at each stop that you flutter to as there are some surprises hidden! You have until September 9, 2013 at midnight CST to flutter along.

My project is a 5" by 6.5" journal notepad and a 3" x 5.5" tag.  Both of these are some of my favorite projects to make because I can embellish as much, or as little as I want. The butterflies are rub-ons...no coloring for me today! The flowers were made with my TH rosette die, and the Celebrate and Happiness tags have been in my stash for quite a few years. The ribbon, twine, and tulle are standard journal/tag toppers for me and I seem to have a vast supply of all three.

Along with the hop, we hope that you'll also join this week's challenge at FBW which is ANYTHING GOES...as long as you include a butterfly or fairy! A little butterfly told us that if the challenge gets over 100 entries there will be a prize!!

It's time to continue hopping....on to Harriet's blog.

Happy fluttering,
happy Thursday,

Happy Birthday Danni!!!

Y&FH #21 Anything Goes Reminder

Have you been wondering where I've been lately?!! I asked a couple of my team leaders if I could take the month of August off from my DT responsibilities as I was planning on a vacay with my hubs, and our daughter will be leaving for college at the end of the month....I was hoping to spend some quality/uncrafty time with my family. Sadly, the vacation in Napa was put on the back burner with my father's recent rehab stay and "family time" has turned into sporadic spurts of dorm shopping and a trip to the theater to see Wolverine. *sigh*

********************
Today's post is a reminder for Yumi & Fumi Handmade Anything Goes Challenge.  There are  new rules over at Y&FH...with one of the most exciting being that you can now use any stamped image for all of the challenges, which means you are no longer limited to using just Y&FH images. Feel free to check out the rules HERE

Not only are there new challenge rules, but there are now two DTs who will be alternating each week to bring you lots of inspiration, Team Yumi and Team Fumi....can you guess which team I am on?!! LOL!

I used Summer Fumi, Tiki Surf Set, and Aloha Honu Set for this tag, all are from the recently released Hang Loose series. I know you can't see it in the photo, but the paper is holographic and shimmers just like water and looks totally awesome. Lots of ribbons, washi tape, and border stickers were used for added details, along with a small handmade charm.

We hope you will join the ANYTHING GOES challenge using ANY image of your choice. All entries must be linked by Friday, August 16th, with the winner and Top 3 picks being announced on Saturday, August 17th. Again, challenge rules can be found HERE.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by today, enjoy what comes your way.
Happy Sunday!

Y&FH #20 Celebration Reminder

With all of the anniversary hoopla that has been going on this week at Yumi & Fumi Handmade, it would be easy to forget that they are in the midst of a CELEBRATION challenge....here are the challenge details:

Create a CARD/PROJECT for any CELEBRATION!!
July 7th - July 19
Ends: Noon (pst)

I chose to make a tag and notepad using Fumi with Turtle for the Celebration theme.

Several images of Fumi were randomly stamped throughout the notepad in a light gray ink.

My teamie Eva created an adorable card using Yumi Peace Sign and I think you'll agree with me that Yumi has the most pinchable cheeks!

You can use any image from Y&F, Sister Stamps, La-La Land Crafts and The Greeting Farm for this challenge. For a full list of our challenge rules, please click on the challenge info tab located at the top of the Y&FH page. Before you add your direct link please double check that your project qualifies, if your card does not fit the challenge rules Y&FH will unfortunately have to remove it from Inlinkz. Feel free to link your project HERE.

The winner will receive a $15 gift certificate to the Y&F Handmade Store. In addition, the Top 3 will receive a 10% discount code.
Good luck and happy Sunday,
Denice

FBW #230 Open Challenge

This week's OPEN challenge at Flutter By Wednesday is sponsored by Pattie's Creations who generously provided the DT with images to work with. I chose the image called Fairy Pattieboop to work with.

I started by printing the image twice...once on white card stock in purple ink, and the second time on green card stock in black ink. I wasn't in the mood to color the images, instead I decided to use very pale colors to highlight it in a few places on the tag. For the notepad, I left the image even plainer on the green card stock.  A few flowers, ribbon, and rhinestones and a sentiment were added to both.

We'd love to have you join us at Flutter By Wednesday this week, and don't forget that even though the challenge is OPEN, you still need to have a butterfly and/or fairy on your project. Feel free to stop by the FBW blog to see the wonderful inpiration that my fellow teamies came up with.
Happy Wednesday,
:Dxx

Baking Snowman Tag

Do you have a favorite time of day? Mine is in the morning after the kiddos go to school and I can sit back and enjoy a cuppa while taking a few minutes to think about my day and make my lists. I love my lists...just ask my family! This morning I decided to take a few minutes to combine a couple challenges, I only wish I had time to join more challenges but my lists seem to keep me overly busy!

With Christmas comes homemade goodies and how fun to add a handmade tag to go along with a couple of loaves of fresh baked breads or a tray of cookies...I also think this would be cute to use with a Hot Cocoa mix too! After paper piecing the apron, I used Copics to color this Baking Snowman image from Dilly Beans.  I then added some mesh bling, a stamped sentiment, and tied it all together with some tulle and twine.

Stamps
Dilly Beans: Baking Snowman
Bo Bunny: What you got cookin?
Stampabilities: Polka Dot Background

Challenges:
Dilly Beans: Anything Girl
The Kraft Journal: Bangles and Bows

Thanks for stopping by and leaving all of the comments that you do....just like home baked treats your comments are sweet and always appreciated.

Favorite Peep

I've been wanting to break-out my Cricut lately and needed to make a little "something" for Easter...so when I saw this adorable tag on A Child's Year cartridge I knew it was the cut that was meant to be.

Lot's of fun details, and my DIY sticker turned embellishment is the butterfly. After putting the sticker on cardstock I used my Epiphany Shapemaker which punches a circle shape and adheres the bubble cap over the image, all at the same time...I LOVE IT and use it, all the time!!!

A banner, spring border die, rub-ons, flowers, stickers, Viva Pearl Pen, Glossy Accents, and a googly eye...

I cut the tag base once and the chick two more times so I could pop-dot them. A little TH Distress Ink and Glossy Accents on the feet and beak completed this cut.

Challenges:
365 Cards: Day 22 - DIY
Exploring Cricut: It's a Spring Thing
My Sheri Crafts: #81 - Easter

Cricut:
A Child's Year, pg 33 Easter2 Tag

Thanks for stopping by, it's always fun to chat with friends.

Fairy Princess Card w/ Tag

It seems I've picked up extra days at work the past couple of weeks and haven't been able to get to my craft area as much as I've wanted, so my thought was to combine a few challenges with my limited time. Lucky for me, there were a couple of duplicate theme's making it pretty easy to accomplish this week....not to mention that making tags is probably one of my favorite projects to do.

I used the gorgeous MME Bella Bella DP and found a sheet in the stack with a filigree around the outer edges of the paper, so I just fussy cut it and used it in place of the rick-rack on the 365 Days sketch. There was a tad bit left, so I added it to the corner of the tag. I used the clear stamp set Fairy Princess from TGF for all the sentiments, mushroom, and fairies...such a cute and versatile set! A couple of different punches were used, along with lace, Viva Decor Pearl Pens, twine, Copics, and stickers. Stickers?! Yes, the buttons are stickers...I put glossy accents over them to give them some dimension.

I love the little details!

Stamps:
TGF: Fairy Princess

Challenges:
The Kraft Journal: Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp: Let's Play Bingo - Pearls/Lace/Tag
Flutter by Wednesday: #195 - Anything Goes
TGF: Monday Fun Day #25 - Circles and Scallops
365 Days: Day 21 - You're Included (1 sticker, 1 patterned paper, ink)
365 Days: Day 18 - Super Sketchy Sunday

As always...thanks for stopping by, it's so much fun to visit!
