NOEL

It feels good to create again, even if it is something as simple as a card and this week I actually made two projects....WOOT! I'm on a roll!

I have had scraps of 4 x 4 pieces of paper with circles cut out of them from a previous project sitting on my desk for over a month. I didn't want to part with the negative pieces for a couple of reasons.....I had too many and knew they would come in handy AND I loved the DP. As soon as I saw the challenge at PDE I thought they would be perfect for a banner. Then I saw this week's sketch at DS#177 and knew this project was meant to be. This is what I came up with and I have the perfect place in mind for it...just in time for the holidays!

The letters where cut from the Cricut Storybook cartridge and pop-dotted. The Santa image is from a $1 JoAnn stamp and wet embossed with white opaque EP. Mesh bling, glitter, ribbons, twine, circle Nesties, scallop punch, CS, and mat board were used. Check out the felt covered jingle bells that I found at Michael's a few years ago which are hanging off of a TH swivel clasp. This bow would never exist without a Bow Easy.

Seriously, if I know I'm going to put glitter on a project why wouldn't I just use glitter paper instead of running it through a Xyron and pour glitter all over it? I asked myself that twice this week.

CHALLENGES:
PDE (Linky party): Banners
Anything But a Card: #41 Anything Goes
Hiding in My Craft Room: #173 Super Scraps Saturday
Deconstructed Sketch:  #177 ( sketch used for the letter O)

I love these challenges, they keep me motivated!
Happy Friday,
happy weekend.

Happy 15th Dario

I used Desconstructed Sketch #160 and finally, I am not scurrying around last minute to enter my card into their weekly challenge!

TGF CC Saturday, Copics, Viva Decor Pearl Pens, Signo Gel pen
DP: Glitz-Sunshine in My Soul

*****************

The card was made for my youngest who turned 15 this weekend....which means another semester of DRIVER'S ED is ahead of us this coming school year. Thank goodness he is our last one taking the class as I'm not sure if my nerves can take any more, lol! We took him out for burgers and to see Blue Man Group in the city, what a fun night...can you say "creamed Twinkies?!!"

Happy Sunday!

The sketch is this week's Deconstructed Sketch #103 by Jen Shults'.

FBW #242...a little RECIPE

This week at Flutter By Wednesday we have a RECIPE challenge....you must have a butterfly, flower, and die cut/punch on your project.

Are you looking at my card and wondering where the die cut is? It is a plain circle cut out of DP that I used for the rolled flower. Yes, you could say that is sneaky, but it is there! The butterflies are glittery stickers that I've had for years.  I kept my card fairly CAS using Deconstructed Sketch #102.

Deconstructed Sketch 102

Such a simple challenge this week and it would be great if you could join us! Feel free to link your project to FBW HERE. Not sure what to do for this challenge? Again, feel free to stop by the FBW blog to see the wonderfully inspiring cards my teams have created.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving all of the great comments, they always make my day.

FBW #229 Layers Challenge

Flutter By Wednesday is all about LAYERS this week!!!! 3 or more layers is what you need, not counting the base of your card.....oh, and don't forget to have a butterfly or fairy on your project.

DP: Paper Studio, Kraft
Copics, Twine, Roses, Viva Decor Paper Pearl Pen, Diamond Dust, punches

I don't normally ooh and aah when I make a card, but I just couldn't help myself because these are just the sweetest fairies! I've loved them ever since the  Fairy Princess Clear Stamp Set from The Greeting Farm first came out, and always enjoy coloring and making a card with them.  I also used Jen Shults' DS90 for the sketch.

I'm extra giddy because I got to use a new chevron background stamp from Just Rite Stamps, along with a new round sentiment stamp from Whimsy Stamps...both were from a Valentine's swap and were from Wendy...LOVE THEM!!!

Another Happy Tuesday w/ Y&F H

Chase, from the Y&F H Back to School release has always reminded me of my son who has the same adorably pinchable cheeks and "puddin' face" grin. I  thought he would be perfect on a card for my son's 21st birthday...which is this coming Friday.

This is one of those cards that is much better in person. All of the blue stars were cut from glitter paper,  there's lots of pop-dots and texture, and I love how a layer of vellum mutes all the stamping behind the image. DP is from ATD's Textured Cardstock pad. The glasses were hand drawn.

 Copics:
Hair: E31, E33, E35
Skin: E0000, E00, E11, R20
Jacket, shoes: W1, W3, W4
Jeans: BG10, B91, B95, B99, W1
Shirt: G34, W1

Happy 21st Birthday Nico!

Our plan is to take Nico out to dinner and celebrate with family...grandparents, aunts and uncles, and cousins over the age of 21. I asked him....

Where do you want to go for dinner?
The Tilted Kilt
Ummmm, Mama and Papa are going too...can you think of a place more appropriate?
Hooter's
Alright, let's choose someplace together.
I want a big, juicy cheeseburger
It's Friday during Lent, it's not going to happen.
Get real, of course it's going to happen.
Do you think you're the only person turning 21 during Lent on a Friday?
Mmmmm...cheeseburger(s)!

Our compromise...stopping at The Tilted Kilt on our way home from dinner and having a drink at the bar. There's something about going to TK with your son that just isn't right?!! LOL!

Challenges:
Here Come the Boys: #46 Lots of Layers
Use it Tuesday: #49 Fasteners Used items: Number stickers, brads, background stamps
Deconstructed Sketch: DS89

Happy Tuesday w/ Fumi Panda

I love having the wonderful opportunity to post every Tuesday  at Y&F H during the month of January, which IMHO is one of the best perks of being the January GD. I thought I'd share a card I made using Fumi Panda, a new stack of Pink Paisley Secret Crush DP I bought last week,  and Jen Shults' DS#83.

If you were a mouse sitting in the corner of my craft area while I made this card, this is just a few of the comments you might have heard me saying out loud to myself....

"Grrrr...I only own a handful of border punches, where did it go?!!"
"SA-weet paper...I love this pink stripe!"
"I LOVE this Washi tape...I wonder if Michael's has more?!"
"!@$%*!!#*?!...why can't I tie a bow?"
"I need more heart buttons."
"Pandas don't have pink bellies, I wonder if anyone will think she looks like a cow?"

Copics:
Skin: E000, E00, E11, R20, R22
Hair: R08, YR16
Eyes: G24
Costume: N1, N4, N8, R000, R81, R83, Silver Spica

FBW #217 Open

At Flutter By Wednesday we know that December is usually busy and with keeping that in mind, we are leaving all of our weekly challenges OPEN this month...which means you can enter any project as long as you have a butterfly and/or fairy on it.

Our Sponsor this week is Di's Digi Downloads, and in the spirit of giving they are offering a $10 gift voucher to their on-line store....can you say Ho Ho Ho!!!

For this week's challenge I used the fabulous Juniper and Cecilia image from Michelle Perkett and paired it with Theresa Collins Fabrications DP. Mesh bling, a gorgeous flower, and some stamped leaves complete this card. Also, you might recognize this Deconstructed Sketch #69 from September...you can find all of Jen's sketches in her archive files HERE.

Deconstructed Sketch No. 69

I know schedules are getting tighter and crafting time might be harder to find during these hectic days, but if you can squeeze in a few minutes of card making....we'd love to have you join us this week at Flutter By Wednesday. Feel free to link up HERE.

FBW & WW Thank-You Collaboration

The day has come where both of my DT challenges are one and the same...THANK-YOU! Seriously, THANK-YOU/THANKFUL is the challenge for both teams, lol!

.
This adorable image from Dilly Beans is Amalia and after coloring her in a few places I added  a little sentiment, then popped a Recollections butterfly on top of everything.  How sweet that Dilly Beans is our sponsor at Wicked Wednesday this week!

A fairy or butterfly, and a thank-you....those are the only requirements for this week's Flutter By Wednesday challenge and I had all of that on my ATC so it only made sense to me to make it into a card.

I used Jen Shults' DS #76 sketch for inspiration, even though I didn't make the deadline for her weekly challenge I still wanted to mention which sketch I used.

You have until Tuesday evening to join both challenges, feel free to link up to Wicked Wednesday HERE and Flutter By Wednesday HERE!

As always, THANK-YOU for stopping by, it's always nice to read your sweet comments.

Flutter By Wednesday - 208 - Pixie Dust

This week's challenge at FBW is Pixie Dust and our sponsor is Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, who was super sweet and supplied the entire DT with images to showcase for the week., which are the same 3 images that will be awarded as this week's top prize.

I used this beautiful image from the Everyday Miracles set, and because the challenge is all about Pixie Dust I added a lot of sparkle and shine to the CS surrounding the image using Stampendous Snow glitter. The DP is from the  MME Dolled Up line. The Decor Paper Pen I used is in Dark Carmine Red, and the rub-on and ribbon are from my stash.

I'm entering this isn:
Simon Says Stamp: Glimmer and Sparkle

You have plenty of time to join us for this fun challenge...just make sure your project has a butterfly or fairy on it, along with a little bit of pixie dust! For more inspiration you can go HERE and see what my teamies have created...you won't be disappointed.

Anya Cool

I was finally able to find a few crafty minutes, which of late hasn't been too easy. On top of trying to find a little crafting time our cable, internet, and phones have had sporadic service and I never know if one or all three are going to be working when I go to use them...ho hum!

Anya, her clothes, sunglasses, ice-cream cones, and sentiment are all from TGF's Dress-up Anya/Ian...which are retired sets but I was able to buy at one of TGF's Farmer's Market, such a deal! All the DP's are left over scraps which I love to use up...but end up never having enough DP for the inside of the card, lOL!

Challenges:
TGF: Dies and/or Punches
Anyone For Anya: Last Summer Fling
Simon Says Stamp: Anything Goes
Totally Paper Crafts: #127 Orange and Yellow
Deconstructed Jen: Sketch 62
The Kraft Journal: Use Any Sketch
Sherri's Crafts: #90 Nat'l Ice Cream Month

Thanks for stopping by and leaving such sweet comments, they all put a smile on my face.

Happy with New Sister Stamps

I've fallen madly in love with all of the Sister Stamps! Oddly enough, I am NOT a fan of most anime styles, yet I can't get enought of these adorable little images! I thought Takeo would make a fab card using Jen Shults' weekly sketch...Deconstructed Sketch #61. Just in case you didn't notice I rotated the picture of the sketch to match my card, lol. Don't you just love the color combination on this card, I know I do!

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and saying HI, it's always fun to see who comes and visits.

Pink Lemonade & DS#60

This is a quick card I made for a couple of challenges using TGF's Cheeky Howdy and the Deconstructed Sketch #60 for inspiration. I absolutely adore this week's FFF challenge PINK LEMONADE...how refreshing! The colors are perfect for summer.

Oddly enough, the day before this challenge was posted I had just finished a different card with the same color combo using the Twice as Nice image from Lily of the Valley. The banner is TGF's clear Bantastic set stamped with TH distress ink.

The kraft paper on the top and bottom are the same piece of paper but gosh darn it, they sure look different, don't they?!!

Challenges:
The Greeting Farm: FFF Pink Lemonade
Deconstructed Sketch: #60

Thanks for stopping by and leaving all the sweet comments that you do...they always brighten my day.

Wicked Wednesday Life's A Beach Reminder

How are you? Has your town been having record breaking heat over the past couple of days too? If you find yourself in the middle of this heat wave I hope you've found the perfect way to stay cool. I have to be honest and say that all I want to do is sit in a pool and sip a cool drink...problem is is that we don't have a pool, which just leaves me with sipping a drink (or two!) LOL!

If you're a follower of my blog you might have heard me mention my fondness for Mad TV's Cabana Chat skits with Dixie Wentsworth...well, those skits prompted me to buy this cabana stamp a few years back. I think it's the perfect sentiment, on soooooooooooooooo many levels! Maybe I like the skits because Dixie is sitting poolside with a tall drink?!! Think about it....

After stamping the sentiment I thought I'd use a small beach chair image to make a "sea glass" tile by dipping the stamped CS in clear embossing ink and UTEE three times. I'm pleased with the way that it turned out.

The minute I saw Jen's Sketch 59 at Deconstructed Jen this week I knew I wanted to use this ATC as the focal point for her challenge. I'm also entering this in the Totally Paper Crafts challenge this week which is Here Comes Summer. I wish you could see the DP on the bottom of the card which is hallographic waves and very cool looking!

Challenges:
Wicked Wednesday: #39 Life's a Beach
Totally Paper Crafts: #124 Here Comes Summer
Deconstructed Jen: Sketch #59

Stamps:
Verses: If Life's a Beach
Stampendous: Beach Chair

Gosh, I sure hope you have the opportunity to join us at Wicked Wednesday for this week's challenge: Life's a Beach because this week's winner has the chance to win six (6) Simply Betty images....AWESOME! So grab your beach themed crafty things and start creating...these little ATCs are a blast to make.

Berry Sweet

The sketch at Deconstructed Jen's this week was perfect for the image I had in mind for the Kraft Journal challenge and after coloring, glittering, cropping, popping and glueing...this is what I came up with. I really think the sketch compliments the image, don't you agree?!!

Challenges:
Deconstructed Jen: Sketch #52
The Kraft Journal: Thank-you

Digi Stamps:
Tiffany Doodles: Strawberry-Hearts
Scrap-i-licious Times: Sentiment

Thanks for stopping by and leaving such nice comments, you are all so Berry Sweet!

Dancing Delight

I don't normally post twice in one day but I just have a few hours before the sketch challenge at Deconstructed Jen's closes...yep, I thought today was still Tuesday?!!

All the DP is from a sb'ing kit from My Big Ideas that's been sitting on a shelf in my craft area waiting for just the "right" project...and by golly, I think I found that perfect project! I am not a fan of coloring hair in any shade of black and started to panic as what to do with this image as I didn't think I had any option other than to use black to match the DP. As it turns out, I simply adore the way this turned out and hope I can duplicate this technique in the future.

Stamps:
Phindy's Place: Dancing Delight
Scraplicious Times: Sentiment

Deconstructing Jen: Sketch #50

As always, thanks for stopping by and leaving such sweet comments...they always make me smile!
