Stamp to Lose March 29 - April 4

Here are this week's challenges:
1- Stamp on a paint color sample strip and use it on a card or scrapbook layout. You know those neat paint sample strips you can get at Lowe's, Home Depot, or other places that sell paint??? Use one of those! In order to stamp on them though, you need to use a Brilliance pad or Stayz-On ink. THEN, once you've stamped the image, color it in with watercolor pencils and adhere the sample strip to your card or layout. (just DON'T do the watercoloring... only use the pencils to color in the image.)
2- Since April starts this week, stamp something that has to do with showers... you know the old saying "April Showers bring May flowers"
3- Stamp anything! That's always better than nothing!!

As you can tell, I went with the first challenge. I am having trouble with placement of the saying on this card, so I'll probably put it on the inside, I would like for the card to say, A true friend never goes out of style. If you have any suggestions please feel free to let me know, because I'm more than willing to hear where all of you think I should place it. I'm stumped at this point, but really like the card! I know I would never have put these together if it wasn't for this challenge, so thank-you Pam and Amy! As always, it was a lot of fun.

Stamp to Lose 3/23 - 3/28

Here's the challenges for this week, and as much as I love shaker boxes, I went the second challenge.

1) Create a glitter window using punches, packing tape, and (of course), glitter!!!
2) Use Versa Mark or Distressing Ink to accent your card
3) Create a card....something is better than nothing

I'm not positive, but I'm thinking that this card might not be blog worthy, but hey, it is the challange and I did complete it!

Stamp to Lose March 15-21

This weeks challenge was:
1) Use a flourish stamp and enhance it with Stickles or glitter
2) Make a birthday card
3) Make any card or enhance a project with some stamping

I used a foam stamp to make this birthday card. I don't have many swirly stamps, and the few I do have are about 1" long, so I used rub-ons. Even with rub-ons I didn't want to use too many flourishes, even though I could use this card for a girl....check out the eyelashes on the frog! LOL! Yep, another of Donna M's wonderful finds! I think I'm going to have to use a 40% coupon and get some of those fancy schmancy swirly stampies! Thanks for looking!

Just Because....

I went to a crop over the weekend and wanted to make a LO with the pics I took of this beautiful bouquet my dh picked up for me during the week, his reasoning was, "just because." He really is sweet!

I love color and of course, the more, the better! With that said, I wouldn't have been able to complete this page w/o the help from a few others...all I can say is that all the embellies on this LO were RAK's from other scrappers, those who sent me some lovely little items, and from those who wanted to hear me stop complaining about not having the right embellishments! So a big SHOUT OUT to those of you who contributed! LOL!

Stamp to Lose Challenge 3/9 - 3/14

"Is it cheating if you admit that you're cheating?" Hmmmmm....I guess the question I'm asking is, "Did I cheat?" Again, hmmmmmm.....

Here's my take on this weeks challenge, I went with the dry embossing instead of the ribbon challenge, and yes, I did use my Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots folder. Gotta love the bugs!

The second photo shows the bling from Stickles. But I also wanted a certain someone to know how much I loved my BFF Valentine's Swap gifts and the wonderful stamp that was included in it! LOVE IT and xoxo's to you for such a thoughtful package.

Thanks for looking! Don't forget to let me know where I can check out your cards/crafts/projects too!

MIL b/day card and Stamp-2-Lose Challenge

This is what I've been working on today during the on-line chat. It's my mil's bday today and we're going to celebrate with a small party this evening.

I used my new Storybook cart, and have to admit it didn't turn out exactly as I had planned...far from it. But it turned out okay and I'm sure she'll like it.

Did I mention it is a shaker card too?!! I'm in love with the sounds of the beads!

I also worked on the Stamp-2-Lose Challenge for Feb. 22-28, here were our choices:

1- Use a VersaMark ink pad, a background stamp, and chalks on a card... (stamp the background image with the VersaMark and let it dry, then use chalks rubbed gently over the image to make the background show- works best with white background cardstock/paper)

2- Since Spring is coming (hopefully) soon, use greens and yellows on a card

3- Stamp ANYTHING! It's always better than nothing!

I managed to do two of the challenges at the same time, AND make it into a shaker card. My head is swooning from all these beads! LOL!

Thanks for stopping by!

An Award from Carla!

Wasn't it sweet of Carla to send this award my way? Click here if you'd like to go and check out her blog.

The rules are fairly simple:

• Display the image of the stamp "Look How Cool Blog" you just won!
• Post the blog link you provided.
• Indicate your choice of 10 blogs.
• Let them know.
• Post the rules.
• Check if the blogs post the prize and followed the rules

I have one problem with the rules, I really don't think I know 10 people to pass this on to....seriously! Sorry Carl! So....with that said, please feel free to attach this to your blog with a shout out from where you got it. You really are all deserving of this and don't forget to follow the rules! LOL!

Shaker Card

Here's my second attempt at a shaker card, and considering my first try where I'm still inhaling glitter from an incorrectly closed box, I think this turned out really cute. This is another stamp set I just got called "Support the Girls" by Crafty Secrets. I love this technique and think I'm going to invest a couple more $$ into micro beads and confetti!
