Wicked Wednesday is Back to School

Please scroll down for this week's Flutter By Wednesday Challenge:
Decorate the Inside

**********************************************************

Seems like everyone is going back to school, including Wicked Wednesday! Our generous sponsor for the week is Back to Paper who let us use this adorable Hit the Books image for this week's challenge which is, BACK TO SCHOOL.

I'm still using up all the ITT's (inchie, twinchie, trinchies) from previous swaps and the the little star inchie is from one of the many swaps I have been in. I added a few rub-ons and a torn-out piece of notepad paper to reinforce the school theme.

But if you know me....you know I keep thinking I want to multi-purpose these ATC's, so I thought I would make a little notepad to keep in my purse. I cut the covers out of chipboard and the inside papers are from old, nubby, unstampable cardstock. All corners were rounded with my corner chomper (which might possibily be one of the best tools (besides my Vagabond) I own.) Then I bound it all with my handy dandy Bind-it-All!

Looks like a few other challenge blogs have a Back to School theme going on too, lucky me!

Hope you've been inspired to join us at Wicked Wednesday this week, you have until 7:00 pm next Tuesday evening to upload your mini creations!

FBW#203 Decorate the Inside of a Card

Please scroll UP for this week's Wicked Wednesday ATC challenge:
Back to School

*********************************************************

This week's challenge at Flutter By Wednesday is to decorate the inside of your card! While we all know that there are times that we just don't want to take the time to finish them, I've personally learned from past experiences that it's ALWAYS best (for me at least) to finish the inside of the card at the same time I make it. If not, it's inevitable that I end up misplacing the last few remaining scraps that were left over and have to use mismatched dp for the inside.

This card was made for one of the sweetest, peace lovin' gals you could know named Jenn, and she is one of those people who I'm more than thrilled to be able to call my "friend." Boho Anya from TGF was used, along with my Feeling Groovy Cricut cartridge and a couple of MS butterfly punches. This adorable sentiment from Inkadinkado seemed like the perfect way to complete this card, along with a few more butterflies and a little gingham ribbon.

We'd love to have you join us at Flutter By Wednesday for this week's challenge, all you have to do is have a butterfly or fairy on your creation. You can link up HERE and while you're there, you can also see the awesome cards my fellow teamies have designed.

Hope you have a fluttery kind of day!

NOW is the time

Remember all those times you've said to yourself, "When pigs fly!"
Well....NOW is the time, and the pigs are flying, lol.

The FFF challenge at TGF is Paper Piecing this week, so I used this adorable image from The Sky's the Limit set along with a few scraps I had laying around for all of the pp....even the clouds have been pp.

This wonderful sketch is from Kim Yu's August Sketch #7 challenge and super easy to work with. I've actually made another card using this sketch but am holding off posting it...for a week or two, lol.

Lastly, over at the Anyone For Anya challenge they are looking for a card/project that is Inspired by Time and to be honest, it took me a few minutes to come up with this sentiment but once I did, it all fell into place quickly using some old alpha stickers and my Dymo label maker.

The DP is from the SEI Poppy line which,IMHO is a stunning line of paper. The clock was stamped with an older Recollections set then Glossy Accented, the balloons have a coating of GA also. I added a couple of stick pins, ribbon, and faux stitching to finish it off.

My favorite thing about this entire card? The pink ribbon and rick-rack
My least favorite thing? I shouldn't have glittered the clouds

Thanks for stopping by, it's always fun to sit with a cuppa and read your wonderful comments.

Wicked Wednesday - Whooo Loves Owls Reminder

A couple of years ago I was in a swap on CMB and made a 2"x2" owl twinchie for the swap....and if you know me, you know I always make a couple extra for those "just in case" times. Well, I went to my stash and pulled out one of the extras and knew it was going to work just fine for this week's Wicked Wednesday reminder post. I added a couple of flower stickers, some bling, some glitter, and a DYMO sentiment.

Don't fret, this is just a reminder! You have plenty of time until Tuesday's 7:00 pm deadline to enter this weeks Whooo Loves You challenge, and did I mention that this week's winner will receive a $15 gift certificate to Smeared Ink?!! Hope to see you playing along and as always, thanks for stopping by and leaving all the wonderful comments

FBW - #202 Friendship

Hello fluttery friends! Flutter by Wednesday has a wonderful challenge this week and it's all about friendship...new and old! Along with a butterfly and/or fairy on your project we'd like for you to make your project for a friend because as much as our friends know we love them...it's still nice to hear.

Our AWESOME sponsor this week is:

We were allowed to choose any image to use as long as it fit into this week's theme and I chose Hatress...how adorable is this girl?!! I chose blue as my primary color because looking at the hat and tea cup reminded me of Alice in Wonderland...what do you think, sorta/kinda?!! I added some DP from my stash, a stamped butterfly and topped it with an epoxy bubble, glitter brads, scalloped ribbon, pearls, a purple flower, and a border sticker....whew! I found this wonderful quote on Google and had to use it as it fits the image perfectly!

This is my first time coloring a Saturated Canary image and realize I have sooooooo much to learn about Copics and shading...what a shame that I'll have to practice, LOL!

I'll be entering this in:
Yumi & Fumi Handmade: Anything Goes
Sketch Saturday: #221

Thanks for stopping by! We'd love to have you join us for this week's Friendship challenge...hope to see you there!

Sweet as a bowl of Cherries (x-tra long post!)

We just got back from a relaxing (well...sorta/kinda relaxing) week of vacation in Door County which is known for it's beautiful landscape scenery along Lake Michigan and Green Bay. Everywhere you go are bluffs, beaches, lighthouses, fish boils, and wineries....and DELICIOUS Door County cherries! In fact, while we were there we had...

cherry scones
cherry turnovers
cherry topped swedish pancakes
cherry stuffed french toast
cherry fudge
cherry taffy
cherry lattes
cherry pie
cherry vodka
cherry wine
and
cherry martini's!

It's no wonder I had cherries on my mind when I spied Jen Shults' Deconstructed sketch #65.

Can you spy 7 different ways I used cherries in this close-up?

I used Unity's Itty Bitty Sweet as a Bowl stamp, Denami Designs cherry stamp, Melissa Francis Kitschy Kitchen DP, a cherry blossom sticker, cherry ribbon, a cherry embellie from M's $1 bin, and the word CHERRY is in the sentiment! If you're scratching your head while looking at the sentiment and thinking that it's fuzzy looking it's because the entire image has super-fine glitter over it and is very pretty in real-life....it just doesn't photograph well.

If you're wondering why we went to Door County, let me show you.....

Looking out from the top of the Bailey's Harbor lighthouse onto Lake Michigan, it only took 97 stairs to see this amazing view!

A chanel marker/range light in Sturgeon Bay.

A look out point in Fish Creek (minus one of the kiddos who had to stay home to work.)

A fish boil in Fish Creek....do you see me?!! I'm the one giving a dirty glare to the ladies who decided to show up at the last minute and stand in front of me during the actual "boil" so they could take their pictures...because really, what's rude about that?!!

Lastly, the wonderful log home we rented for the week that was nestled solely among 17 acres, and completely internetless.

Relaxing? You betcha!!

Thanks for stopping by and leaving all the wonderfully sweet comments, they always make me smile.

Wicked Wednesday - The Blues Reminder

This is just a quick reminder that you have until 7:00 pm this coming Tuesday to join us at Wicked Wednesday for this week’s challenge which is: The Blues. One lucky winner will win one of the several images the DT used from Michelle Perkett Studios, who is our sponsor this week.

I found this gorgeous image of a bird in a bird house over at The Graphics Fairy and thought if anyone should be feeling blue, it might be this little guy....sad, right?!! I stamped the concerto background, then outlined the image with gold embossing powder, and finished it off by adding a bead and the word CAPTURED.

Don’t forget...this Tuesday by 7:00. Hope to see you there!
