WW #81 Winged Things Reminder

Winged Things...that's what this week's challenge at Wicked Wednesday is all about!

 

 

The bumble bee was made by placing a thin sheet of metal on top of a brass stencil and running it though my Cuttlebug, which was then sanded so the design would show. The ATC was gussied up with rub-ons, glitter, an embossing folder, and a white gel pen.

I must confess that lately I've been dabbling in art journaling and mixed media, and that I've been having fun being messy and creating outside of the boundaries I normally set for myself.  This ATC is the end result of an afternoon of pulling out art supplies and not caring what the final result was...other than it wasn't too terrible too look at.

FBW #237 April Sketch

At Flutter By Wednesday we are using a phenomenal sketch by our own FBW Sketch Designer Kathy Curry for this week's challenge, and let me say that I think this is going to become one of my "go to" sketches. Not only is it easy to use, but also has fabulous results!

 

 

All you have to do this week is follow the sketch and add a butterfly or fairy on your project...it can't get much simpler than that!

 

The adorable image is Yumi with Birdie from Yumi & Fumi Handmade, a newer rubber stamp company that is having a fabulous month long giveaway that goes through May 3rd. If you get the chance, you should stop by this adorable site and see the wonderful stamps they offer...they're sure to bring a smile or two.

TGF FFF Recyle/Alter Something

TGF's FFF challenge this week is to RECYLE/ALTER SOMETHING and this is what I altered...the little box that my gelatos fit into perfectly.

 

 

Black paint, TGF images stamped in various colors, chevron paper, and a Dymo label maker...it can't get much easier than that!

WW #80 Black & White and One Other Color Reminder

 

"What if it's not black and white, what if it's all gray?"

 

I'm not sure of the exact quote but this is very similar and it's how I've been feeling lately...and for someone who loves rules and structure, I started to panic the minute I heard it.  That's how I came up with this ATC.

WW #80 and FBW #236 - Two challenges, One card!

Happy Wednesday! It doesn't happen too often where I can combine both of my DT's into one post but today is one of those days! Woot woot!

 

This awesome image is from Lacy Sunshine and is called Butterfly eyes. Lacy Sunshine is sponsoring  this week's ATC challenge at Wicked Wednesday which is BLACK, WHITE & ONE (1) OTHER COLOR. For some reason the orange rhinestone eyes mesmerize me.

 

 

I used the finished ATC to make a card for this week's Flutter By Wednesday USE A SENTIMENT challenge. The sentiment is from the TH's Simple Sayings set which has a wide array of sentiments and is extremely versatile.

Wicked Wednesday is strictly ATC's and Flutter By Wednesday requires a butterfly or fairy,  both challenges run through next Tuesday evening, 7:00 pm EST and 7:00 pm PST respectively.

WW #79 Show Us Your Suit Reminder

I thought this handsome guy in his extremely well-fitted suit should be part of my monthly ATC calendar, then it occured to me that I probably misinterpreted this week's Wicked Wednesday challenge Show Us Your Suit because after carefully re-reading the fine lines...it is supposed to be about card playing.  Aaaack!

The 2 larger images were taken from Google Images and are from the Casino Royale 007 film, which is as close to card playing as this ATC is going to get. I don't have time  to change this, but if I did I would totally go off-base and put Daniel Craig in his blue bathing "suit" from the movie, lol.

Here's something you may not know about me....my hubby's ringtone is the 007 theme song and I always answer the phone saying, "Hello James." A girl can dream....
