Happy Sunday! 

Our newest challenge at Yumi & Fumi Handmade is a Sketch Challenge which ends 

January 31st....so hurry!  

I had the hardest time figuring out what to do with this sketch because I was very determined to use this fabulous paper, which came with this adorable sentiment that begged to be used.....

YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE

The heart placement on the sketch reminds me of Valentine's Day, which makes me think of my college-aged daughter  She comes home from J-term this week and goodness, I can't tell you how nice it will be nice to see her.

As the journal sat on my craft desk I would add a little bit of this and a little bit of that, a gem here  and a gem there .... maybe even two gems. Here is an even more sketchy, artsy, updated picture of the journal cover using Summer Fumi.

I can't wait to give it to my daughter for Valentine's Day, along with some lovin' and some chocolate!

this 6x6 card took me hours to make! I can't image how long it might have taken to complete if I hadn't pre-colored the image, chosen papers, and packed everything together a few months ago. I am oh-so glad I did!

ATC Journal (Picture Heavy)

As I made ATC's  for the Wicked Wednesday team this past year,  I would make them specifically for each month and set them aside. I was planning to make a calendar project until I came to a standstill, as I just wasn't sure how to put it all together, at least until July when I emptied a case of Mason jars.

 Finally, an idea!

Seriously....how could I throw this away?!

After cutting and folding the inserts,

 holes (for binding purposes) were punched,

Distress Stain in Pewter was applied to all the edges.

 and Washi tape was placed as tabs.

There's nothing like a Xyron machine to make each and every project easy, 

I used mine to adhere black CS on every page for uniformity.

Tags were made and placed in pockets that were created when the pages were designed. 

Seam binding was used to tie everything together.

The peace sign was made using the Feeling Groovy Cricut cartridge. 

The monthly stamp(s) are from the CTMH Cherish the Day set.

All papers are from scraps, and the tag toppers are miscellaneous embellies from previous projects.

I am proud to say that almost all of this project has been repurposed.

Each ATC was double-matted and lifts opens to allow for additional notes.

 The receiver of this monthly journal is Jenn, the team leader and owner of the Wicked Wednesday challenge blog...she has an old soul which is ever so kind, gentle, and peaceful!

Many of you know that I lost my father recently and even though I am thankful that he has finally found peace after several months of struggling with various health conditions....the sadness is overwhelming. It may take a little while to get back into the full groove of blogging and commenting, but I will do my best to stay on top of it.

WW #113 Charmed

We have a wonderful challenge starting at Wicked Wednesday....all you have to do is have a charm on your ATC. Our sponsor is Delicious Doodles and they generously provided the entire DT with a couple of images....I chose this fabulous skull wreath digi.

 

The image was fussy cut, then several layers of pine boughs were added behind it....along with some dripping blood. The eyes were colored red and transparent Viva Paper Pen was applied. I thought this skullie would work like a charm (hee hee) to fulfill the challenge obligation.
