WW #107 Cute Halloween Reminder

Yep, I'm late again with this week's Wicked Wednesday post.

 I will be on time, I will be on time, I will be on time.....

 

Both images are from this week's sponsor Birdie Brown, and are perfect for our Cute Halloween challenge. First up is this adorable Halloween Cat 01 image that was colored to look like candy corn.

 

 

 

The second image, Witch Doll 02 was just too much fun to color and the sentiment inchie is from one of the many inchie swaps I've been in.

 

Seeing how I've been in a crafty mood lately I decided to make a little something for a good friend and thought I would use the second ATC to make a craft box goodie box.

 

I filled in all of the sections of the craft box with sweet treats and crafting treats, with one of the crafty treats being this handmade charm made with beads and TH fragments. I sure hope she likes this!

I love dabbling with different products....mixing this and stamping that...and am always looking for fun and creative ways to use all of the products I've accumulated over time.  With my daughter recently having gone away to college I like to send her a note every once in a while and as easy as it is to make her a card, it's too much fun to sit and make her some interesting "stationary."

 

I started with a plain piece of college ruled notebook paper and stamped Yumi and Fumi.

 

Chinese symbols for child, mother, and love were added.  A foam heart was inked, then stamped.

 

Washi tape was added, along with a few hearts from a Heidi Swap stencil.

 The sentiments are from a TGF set.



Hello was stamped, then Gelato's and distress stains were applied.

 

Watercolor pencils and doodling finish the note paper.


I'm sure my daughter is happy to receive her gussied up notebook paper, but I'm thinking she's probably looking for a little more "green" to go along with it...if you know what I mean.

Happy Sunday! A couple of weeks ago I made an ATC with Daisy from the Great Gatsby in mind, and today I'm sharing a tag that features Chase from Yumi & Fumi Handmade colored and embellished as her romantic and hopelessly obsessed lover, Jay Gatsby.

As I traveled back and forth to my parents house this summer I would listen to The Great Gatsby on tape and envisioned Jay Gatsby walking into the room with his "white suit, gray shirt, and gold tie." I'm not sure if I was hoping for Jay Gatsby or Leonardo DiCaprio to be the one to enter the room,  either way, here is my version him.

On a side note....I drove the 10 hour round trip to bring my daughter home for fall break yesterday and this is the 1st time she's been home since school started in August. I brought a friend along and what a fantastic day...giving my daughter a hug, great conversation, the trees turning along the Mississippi, a gorgeous sunset....a good day indeed!

I had a lot of fun making this ATC from coloring this Dilly Beans Little Devil image with Copics, to stamping the background, to adding just a little bit of colored pencils here and there. I used green gel dots on his eyes and the sentiment was stamped with mini alpha stamps from the $1 bin from Michael's....what a fun font!
