Wicked Wednesday - Based on a Character Reminder

This is a quick reminder that you have until 7:00 pm next Tuesday evening to join in our Based on a Character challenge that's going on at Wicked Wednesday. When I was looking through my stamps for this reminder I ran across TGF Cheeky Kitty digi and instantly thought about the latest Batman release, which is a great movie...didn't Anne Hathaway look spectacular in her catsuit?!!

I copy, pasted, and Glossy Accented the Batman logo. The DP is SEI Spooks and Theresa Collins Fabrications. A little mesh bling, some Viva Paper Pens dots around the edges and wahlah...a character! I even added that fabulous pearl necklace that Selina/Catwoman wore so elequently.

I'm also entering this in the challenge at Anyone for Anya: Let's Go to the Movies.  I thought the TH filmstrip was appropriate.

I really should pay more attention to challenge due dates as the sketch I used was TGFSC31 on SCS and was designed by Eva, and sadly this particular challenge closed last night. This is a great sketch to work with and as you can tell, I flipped the picture to show how I worked with it.

And a quick look at the inside...simple, but cute.

It's your turn to get your character "on" and join us over at Wicked Wednesday, hope to see you there!

Happy 18th Frankie!

We have another birthday celebration coming up soon...our daughter is turning 18 next week!  I wanted to make sure this was completed and ready to go before her birthday, as last year I was late in making her card and she was very upset with me and muttered something about "the shoemaker's kids." She's a total goofball about anime and manga and even has a few characters that she draws herself. I personally think she's super talented and have asked her a few times to draw images for specific projects for me...if she actually does get around to drawing them I'll let you know. I can't believe we'll be taking her on college visits this coming month.

I started making this banner a couple of week's ago hoping to enter it into a couple of challenges but was sidetracked by a few birthdays, along with out-of-town guests. I'm not complaining tho...it was great to see my sister again as it's been since  spring since I last saw her. I added kanji and flowers from the Pagoda cartridge, and the number 18 is from the Mickey & Friends font cartridge. The girlies are from the newest Sister Stamp release and all  DP is from the MME Penny Lane line.

This is the matching card made with a few leftovers...such as the negative from one of the flowers and an extra butterfly I didn't use on the banner.

Stamps:
Sister Stamps: Mariko (w/ present), Miyoko (w/ cupcake)
Hero Arts: Arigato
Stampin' Up: Take a Spin

Challenges:
Yumi & Fumi Handmade: #3 Anything but a Card
Simon Says Stamp: Anything Goes
Through the Craftroom Door: #37 Sept 25th - Oct 1st
Use it Tuesday: Use Your Scraps, here's how:
All images were stamped on odd sized scraps and then fussy cut.
The flowers were cut with DP scraps left over from a project from 3 years ago.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving all of the sweet comments that you do, they really are a bright spot in my day.

Wicked Wednesday #51 Based on a Character

********************************************************

Please scroll down for this week's FBW #207 OPEN challenge.

********************************************************

My daugther is a huge Harry Potter fan and I thought I'd try my hand at making a HP ATC for this week's Based on a Character theme at Wicked Wednesday. As adorable as this little guy is, he's missing one thing....his glasses! I finally broke down and bought some brads that looked like glasses (thanks Donna!) and couldn't wait to use them...then I realized that I had sized the image too small for the glasses. I could have enlarged and reprinted the image but I had already colored this one. Bummer! Now I'm wondering why I didn't hand draw the glasses?!! Double bummer!

This adorable Wizard image was provided by our sponsor this week, Squiggle Stamps. Squiggle Stamps will be closing at the end of 2012, so head on over and grab some really cute images at 50% off! The sentiment is from Karber Stamps.

Everyone has a favorite character, maybe even two and we would love to have you  join us in this fun challenge...you can upload your little creations  to Wicked Wednesday HERE!
:Dxx

Flutter By Wednesday- #207 Open Challenge

This week's challenge at Flutter By Wednesday is OPEN, which means there is one simple rule....you can enter any card and/or project as long as they have a butterfly or fairy on them...this is a challenge blog about fluttery things after all!

I chose this gorgeous image called HERMOSA which was designed by Megan Suarez for Dilo En Espanol....you can find it HERE. All DP is from the Fabrications line by Theresa Collins and what a fabulous line of double-sided paper this is, all of my favorite colors are in one pad!! The velvet flower is from Maya Road and was Glimmer Misted in a deeper purple hue. The sentiment is from a Technique Tuesday clear birthday set. The entire white background has been glitterflied...I sure wish it showed up because all of that super-fine glitter is the "WOW" factor on this card.

I also used Kim Yu's #8 September Sketch and I should warn you that once you use one of Kim's wonderful sketches you will keep using them because you always end up with stunning results.

It's your turn to create something fun and fluttery for this week's OPEN challenge, you can upload your project HERE. I'd love to stop by your blog and see what you created, let me know if you do!

Wicked Wednesday - Circus Fun Reminder

This adorable lion is a digi freebie that I received from The Stamping Boutique a couple of months ago...gosh, I couldn't wait to bring him out to color as soon as I heard about this week's Circus Fun challenge. I added a BIG HEARTED sentiment, twine, and a heart shaped button to complete this ATC. The DP is Family Outings by Momenta, and not only is this wonderful 12x12 pad filled with FUN papers but it has a section of circus papers included in it *happy sigh*!

Just in case you're not sure, you have until 7:00 pm this coming Tuesday to enter the Circus Fun challenge at Wicked Wednesday. Hope you will join us!!!

Wicked Wednesday - Circus Fun

Please scroll down for this week's FBW sketch challenge.

**************************************************

Wicked Wednesday is all about FUN...and this week's fun is CIRCUS FUN! We were given this adorable image from The Doodle Garden to work with and I had so much FUN making this ATC! This brought back some wonderful memories of being a little girl and going to the circus with my sisters. We watched the ever-entertaining acts in awe...and dreamt of one day being one of those fabulous tight-rope walkers in their fabulous costumes! The lions roared, the clowns made us laugh, and a man really did fly out of a cannon....FUN? You betcha!

You have until next Tuesday evening to join us in this CIRCUS FUN challenge at Wicked Wednesday...you can link up HERE and while you're there, you can see some of the FUN creations my fellow DT'ers made.

Flutter By Wednesday - 206 Sketch

This is the sketch that everyone at Flutter By Wednesday is working with this week, it is by fellow teamie Kathy Curry. I used this fabulous Michele Perkett digi image called Daydream Fantasy and paired it with some gorgeous double-sided MME Dolled Up DP. Copic glitter pens were used on the grapes and leaves which are so pretty and sparkly in person.

FYI: Be prepared to see a lot more of this wonderful image as is it was one of a few that I took on vacation with me and I would sit and color during our downtime or in the evenings. I must have colored this 7 or 8 different ways. Eeeek!

We would love to have you join us at Flutter By Wednesday for this weeks challenge, all you have to do is use the above sketch and include a butterfly or fairy on your project. You can link up HERE, and while you're there you can find more inspiration from my fellow teamies!

Thanks for stopping by and leaving all the sweet comments, they are a bright spot in my day.

I used this adorable image from TGF called Library Mouse and colored it with Copics. The A+ inchie was in my endless supply of ITT's, then I added some rub-ons and hand doodling...super easy and lots of fun!

Wicked Wednesday - Love to Learn

Please scroll down for this week's FBW challenge: Favorite Color

**********************************************************

This week's challenge at Wicked Wednesday is Love to Learn and we were given some adorable images to use from this week's sponsor, the Graphics Shoppe. It took me a few minutes to figure out how to color this girlie's curly hair, but once I did I was really happy with the end result. I was lucky enough to find this adorable ruler inchie (from those previous ITT swaps) in my stash, and then I added a quick Dymo sentiment to finish it off.

Hope you know we would love to have you join us at Wicked Wednesday, and you have until next Tuesday to join us. Don't forget that an ATC is 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches and super fun to make!

FBW #205 Favorite Color

There's nothing better than creating fun projects with a favorite color and how awesome that this week's challenge at Flutter By Wednesday is: Use Your Favorite Color. Paper Make-Up Stamps is our sponsor and not only did they provide the entire DT with images this week, but they are also offering a $15 gift voucher to their store to this week's winner!

My absolute favorite color is blue, think clear skies with out a cloud in the sky. Second on my list of favorites is sage/celery green. Put them together and you get the most awesome color to create with....aqua. Throw in a little bit of Kraft paper and OMG, I started to get a little light-headed from "favorite color overload!"

I used my new Sizzix Flip-its die and mesh bling once again because they are just too much fun not to use! I also pulled out my MFT flat cloud die and paired it with Theresa Collins double-sided Fabrications DP. Again, OMG...I just found this DP in a 6x6 pad which is perfect for cards.

Grab your fairies and butterflies and join us in this fun and colorful challenge, you can find all the rules and uploading directions HERE!

Latte Anya

Scroll down for today's Wicked Wednesday challenge reminder:
Black & White, and One Other Color

******************************************************

My new TGF Latte Anya arrived a couple of days ago, just in time for me to make a quick post-it/gift-card holder for the Anything...but a card challenge that's going on at Anyone for Anya.

On Thursday I had 20 minutes to spare while waiting for my son to finish one of his after-school activities, so I went to the Joanne's that was close-by and found a package of decorative post-its for 50 cents. How cool that the package had 2 pads of post-its in it? I found a matching package of file folders (2 per package also) for another 50 cents. So....for $1, I was able to make two of these adorable post/gift-card holders...and I still have 1 ununsed file folder!

Thanks for stopping by, your comments always make me smile!

WW B&W and One other color - Reminder

It's Saturday! That means I have a quick reminder for this week's challenge at Wicked Wednesday which is Black & White and One other color. As you can tell I decided to use pink as my other color. I clear embossed each shoe after stamping them, then applied TH Spun Sugar DI over the images. Easy Peasy!

I've had these shoe stamps for a while, as a matter of fact a few years ago I was in a HUGE ITT (inchie, twinchie, trinchie) swap over at the CMB and I couldn't wait to use these adorable stamps to make 500 (yes, I did say 500) twinchies. After hours of making all of my required ITT's, I sent them before the due date with enough $ for priority return postage. If you can guess it...the hostess for this swap flaked on all of us...she kept ALL of the ITT's, and all of the money and postage that was sent to her by dozens and dozens of people. Stealing is stealing, and is never justified...I would say her name but think Blogger might shut me down if I called her by the name what I really want to call her. I think that's why these shoe stamps have been hidden in a very dark place in my craft area, they remind me of a time that made me very unhappy.

Thanks for stopping by today and I'm sorry you had to read my little rant, can you tell I'm not quite over it yet?!

Arigato

A couple of weeks ago there was a Scrapbooking Expo in town and while I was there I bought a few new goodies to play with...a handful of Copics, a new Sizzix Flip-it die, and mesh bling. If only I had know how fast I was going to fall for the mesh bling I would have bought some in every color...OMG, I'm weak in the knees just thinking about this fabulous product.

I'm still working out the kinks and watching some YouTube videos for this die because as easy as it looks to work with, lining up the paper and images took a little tweaking on my part. All in all, I figured it out and am really pleased with the finished card.

Don't you love the mesh bling?!! I MUST HAVE MORE!!! LOL!

The image is from Sister Stamps and is called Kiyoko.
The sentiment, lantern, and flowers are from the Hero Arts Arigato set.
The DP is SEI-Poppy

Challenges:
Yumi & Fumi Handmade: #2 Use a Sentiment
Simon Says Stamp: Put a Stamp On It
Through the Craft Room Door: Diva or Anything Goes

Arigato, for stopping by and leaving all the sweet comments.

Wicked Wednesday - B&W and one other Color

Please scroll down for this week's Flutter By Wednesday Birthday challenge post.

***********************************************************

This image is absolutely adorable!! It is by Birdie Brown who is our sponsor this week at Wicked Wednesday. The challenge for the week is Black & White and one other Color...I used Copic R20 and R30 for my one other color. It sure looks like I used a different color on the balloon though doesn't it? I think because I used Ritz Glitter in Nuance Chaude (warm highlights) it gave the R-color's a different hue...but I promise the balloon was colored only in those 2 colors and in real-life, it doesn't appear to be different at all.

We'd love to see your rendition of Black & White and one other Color! Feel free to link up HERE before 7:00 next Tuesday evening, hope to see you there.

Flutter By Wednesday #204 - Birthday

This week over at Flutter By Wednesday we are celebrating with a BIRTHDAY themed challenge...even our FBW leader, Danni is partaking in the festivities and had a birthday yesterday, lol!

The minute I saw this adorable digi image from Bugaboo I had to have it because seriously...what's not to love about a birthday fairy decorating a cupcake with strawberries! Doesn't this image just make you smile?!!

I thought I'd show off the inside because not only do I have one, but I have two Bugaboo digi images of these cherub looking fairies and their strawberries. I posted this next picture because I was hoping you could see all the sparkling glitter on the frosting....not sure if it shows up very good or not.

Don't forget, you have until next Tuesday evening to upload your projects for the Birthday challenge at Flutter By Wednesday, hope you can join us! While you're there, check out the adorable cards my teamies made for this challenge...and if you think about it, give a Happy Birthday shout-out to Danni!

Thanks for stopping by, it's always fun to read your sweet comments.

Wicked Wednesday - Back to School Reminder

Here's a quick reminder that you have until 7:00 pm Tuesday evening to join us in the Back to School challenge that's going on over at Wicked Wednesday. You know we'd love to have you join us in these fun little challenges, afterall...an ATC is only 2 1/2 X 3 1/2 inches.

I've been on a "I have to use up what I have" mission lately and believe me, there's a lot in my craft area that needs used up! Like this DP that has a school bus border...I've had it for almost 12 years. How do I know it's been 12 years? I bought it the year we moved into our new house and today is our house's 12th birthday!

The apple and book are from a swap I was in a couple of years ago at SP and is from the Hello Kitty cartridge.
The gold stars are leftovers from previous cards.
The alpha beads have been around for a few years.

********************************************************

If you are wondering....we are going to have cake tonight, we'll put 12 candles on it and sing happy birthday to our house. Then I'll take pictures of the house, like I do every year, to put in the photo album. There'll be a front view and any home improvements to archive the year's changes, afterall....it is part of our family.
