I have to tell you, this was a fun ATC to make....from using a recycled security envelope for the base, to using my new A*Muse Grunged Sunrays background stamp, to coloring these fabulous playground images.

You have until 7:00 pm est next Tuesday evening to join this fun Wicked Wednesday ATC challenge. Need a little inspiration?! Not only can you see what my teamies came up with this week, but you can also link up your ATC...all right HERE! I think it goes without saying, but I will say it....we'd love to have you join us!

I hope you have a happy, happy Wednesday.

FBW #242...a little RECIPE

This week at Flutter By Wednesday we have a RECIPE must have a butterfly, flower, and die cut/punch on your project.

Are you looking at my card and wondering where the die cut is? It is a plain circle cut out of DP that I used for the rolled flower. Yes, you could say that is sneaky, but it is there! The butterflies are glittery stickers that I've had for years.  I kept my card fairly CAS using Deconstructed Sketch #102.

Deconstructed Sketch 102

Such a simple challenge this week and it would be great if you could join us! Feel free to link your project to FBW HERE. Not sure what to do for this challenge? Again, feel free to stop by the FBW blog to see the wonderfully inspiring cards my teams have created.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving all of the great comments, they always make my day.

WW #85 Song and Dance Reminder

My "ah, ha" moment for this ATC came when I received an invite to my niece's dance recital for this weekend....which reminded me that I had this adorable Dancing Delight image by Phindy's Place and  immediately knew she would be perfect for this week's challenge at Wicked Wednesday....Song and Dance!  I can't wait to see my niece dance, but I'll have to wait until the next recital because my daughter graduates from high school on the same day...woot, woot!! Just one more reason for us to sing and dance in celebration at our house.
This Wicked Wednesday challenge runs until 7:00 est next Tuesday evening, feel free to link your ATC HERE. If you're falling short on inspiration for this challenge, never teamies are sure to kick start any slacking mojo with their creativity HERE.
Thanks for stopping by on this busy, busy Saturday!

FBW #241 May Sketch

Once again at Flutter By Wednesday we have a fabulous sketch by our own FBW Sketch Designer Kathy Curry and gosh, did I have a great time working with it! I have a feeling the rest of the DT enjoyed this sketch as much because they did such an awesome job with this week's many fluttering butterflies and fairies!

This gorgeous image is by Magenta, and all DP is from my box of scraps. When I decided to finish the inside of this card, I also added a few Martha Stewart punched butterflies in yellow on the outside to the right side of this card...I sure wish I had taken a picture of it with the added butterflies because it really did add a bit of "pop" to this card. All in all, my mother-in-law loved this on Mother's Day!
As I said earlier, my teamies did an awesome job on this sketch which you can see while you're linking your challenge project HERE. This challenge runs thru 7:00 pst next Tuesday evening.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by and leave such sweet comments, they always make my day!

Y&FH #16 Anything But a Card

At the end of July I am hosting a local scrapbook retreat and thought it would be fun to decorate each of the tables with a little "something," but with a total of 13 tables to decorate I started to think it might be wise to combine cute with cost effective. I think this 5.5" x 5.5" rosette with Fumi w/ Turtle is going to be the perfect solution.

I am proud to say that not one Hershey's Kiss was
harmed during the photography of this rosette!!
Two (2) strips of  heavy card stock were cut at 2.5" x 12" after using a scallop border punch on the long edge. After the strips were scored and pleated at all indents, both ends were attached with Scor-Tape.  I used a Spellbinders circle and scalloped circle die to make the center of the rosette.
The current challenge at Yumi & Fumi Handmade is Anything But a Card (ABC). Think tags, gift card holders, banners, journals, many paper crafts fall into this category. There is one small catch to this can't win if you don't enter and with a fabulous $15 gift certificate to the Y&FH store as the prize, it is definitely worth entering.

The challenge runs through Friday, 5/24 at noon, pst to ENTER, and all rules and qualifying stamps can be found in the Challenge Info tab.
In case you haven't heard, Y&FH is in the midst of a DT call which runs until June 1st....all the info you need can be found in the DT Call tab. Good luck to all that apply!
Happy Sunday, thanks for stopping's always fun chatting with my Blogger friends.

WW #84 Show Us the Future Reminder

Did you ever buy one of these little red fish that when you put it in the palm of your hand it is supposed to tell the future? If I remember correctly, mine would either curl up entirely or lay motionless...there was nothing in between which was disappointing because I always wanted it to see it move.  Is it a real fortune teller? I'm not too sure about that, but it does make a cute ATC!

You have a few more days to join us at Wicked Wednesday for this week's Show Us the Future challenge. You can see the rules, link your ATC, and see some mystically fabulous designs from my teamies....all right HERE!

Thanks for stopping by, happy Saturday!

Wicked Wednesday # 84 Show Us the Future

Please scroll down for this week's FBW #240 Button challenge
This adorable Fortune Teller image was provided to the entire Wicked Wednesday DT by our sponsor this week, which is Just some Lines. Wouldn't you like to sit down with this gal for an hour or so?! I think everyone has a question or two they'd like to ask, or am I the only one?
This week's ATC challenge is open until 7:00 pm EST next Tuesday evening, we'd love to have you join us! Feel free to link you project HERE.
Thanks for stopping by, happy Wednesday!

FBW #240 Buttons

We have a fabulous challenge starting today over at Flutter By Wednesday and it's all about BUTTONS. Besides having the required fairy and/or butterfly, you'll also need to have buttons on your project.

I used Michele Perkett's Daydream Fantasy image. The buttons are vintage and are from my mother's button box that has been collecting buttons for years. I always find it to be a lot of fun searching through the box because of the wonderful sound the buttons make when I rifle through them.
Feel free to link your project  HERE, and to see some of the fabulous inspirational cards by the Flutter By Wednesday DT.
Thanks for stopping by, happy Wednesday.

WW #83 Tarot Symbols Reminder

"The Sun is inevitable. We can always count on it to rise each morning. Even if we've had the most dark and despairing night we are able to derive confidence that this too shall pass when we see the sun lifting over the horizon."

(The Sun, Arcanum 19 - Jane's Hermetic - 1991)
New Beginnings
Breaking Through

Wicked Wednesday is smack dab in the middle of their Tarot Symbol ATC challenge which runs until 7:00 pm EST next Tuesday evening...feel free to link your ATC HERE.
Lastly, I thought I'd share what my youngest found in the forsythia bushes yesterday...

Wishing you a bright and sunny Saturday!

Wicked Wednesday #83Tarot Symbols

Please scroll down for this week's FBW #239 OPEN challenge
Tarot Symbols is the challenge at Wicked Wednesday this week, and our wonderful sponsor is Delicious Doodles who provided the DT with a few images to work with. I have to be honest and tell you I know nothing about Tarot other than Cyndi Lauper played a Tarot reader on a couple episodes of Bones...which really isn't a lot to go on! After a couple hours of reading I find it interesting that there are so many interpretations of the same card/symbols. I chose the ROSE.
The Senses
"These are just a few symbolic meanings for the Rose, the list is pretty much endless because the rose is a queen of garden of the soul. She champions our senses with her voluptuous beauty and heady fragrance. It's no wonder the Rose is used in the Tarot - this flower fully engages our attention as well as all our senses."
We would love to have you join us at Wicked Wednesday this week, but you must do so by 7:00 pm EST next Tuesday. You can enter your ATC, along with view my teamies tarot creations HERE.
Happy Wednesday!

FBW #239 Open

Happy Wednesday! Today starts a new week long challenge at Flutter By Wednesday and it's a favorite of many because it's an OPEN challenge. What?!! As long as you have a butterfly and/or fairy on your project, you can design and enter anything you want.
I used the adorable Miyoko by Sister Stamps, her kimono was pp from origami paper. DP is from the DCWV Far East pad. The butterflies and sentiment are from an Asian set of stickers that I've had for a very looooong time. And sadly, this is the last of the felt cherry blossom border which I added pearls too.
If you're looking for inspiration my teamies have created some beautiful cards which you can check out at the FBW blog, along with entering your project and viewing all of the FBW rules. Hope you will join us!

Y&F H #15 Shaped Card for Mother Figure

Today is my first official card for the Y&F H DT...woot, woot!
Challenge #15 is to make a Shaped Card for a Mother Figure, which I interpreted to be anything but a typical A2 sized card. I used Fumi w/ Birdie for this card because my mother is a bird watcher. Have you ever heard of "crazy cat ladies?"  Well, my mother is the  "crazy bird lady" and she is going to love this!

I pulled out my well used Pagoda cartridge and cut the flower at 5 1/2" and 4 1/2" in both regular and shadow. I ran into a little dilemma because I didn't weld the flowers to make a card, so the picture below is how I joined them. The black, green and white circles were all hand doodled. The letters were stamped and fussy cut on this adorable double sided DP by My Little Shoebox.

We'd love to have you join us at Yumi and Fumi Handmade,  you have until Friday, May 10th (Noon pst) to enter your shaped card. To sweeten the pot...the prize for this challenge is a $15 gift certificate to the Y&F H online store!

Thanks for stopping by....happy Sunday, on this 5th of May!

WW #82 Sun & Surf Reminder

Here's a quick reminder that you have until 7:00 pm EST this coming Tuesday to join us at Wicked Wednesday for this week's Sun & Surf ATC challenge.
After using gesso and acrylic paints for the background, I stamped Surfer Anya from The Greeting Farm in Archival Ink and colored her with TH Distress Inks. A border strip of sunshine, a puffy water splash sticker, and a few white highlights were added to complete this ATC.

If you're looking for more inspiration, head over to Wicked Wednesday and see how my fellow teamies have interpreted this week's challenge.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a fun and happy Saturday!

Why I'm smiling today....

I am excited to say that I was asked to join Yumi & Fumi Handmade and as of May 1st, I joined their DT! I hope you'll follow along on this wonderful journey and join me in some of their challenges. Not only are their images bright and cheery, but it's guaranteed that they'll always make you smile.
Look at this adorable badge Leanne made on a card to welcome me...isn't this the sweetest?!! It's like a great big Y&F (((HUG)))!
I am in a "sharing" mood today....
Have you ever heard of the 1SE app....One (1) Second Everyday? This app will "mash" your images together to make a short video that includes only one second of everyday you take a video/picture.
After uploading the app I thought I would take a video everyday of the forsythias in my backyard as they went from their bud stage to full bloom.  Mind you, I wouldn't keep these weeds in my yard for the life of me if it wasn't for the 3 weeks out of the year that they bloom and transform into this gorgeous yellow that warms my heart everytime I look at them.
Did you see me peeking out of the Forsythias?!! LOL! My kiddos called me "creepy," but I said I was pretending to be a garden gnome! Here's a pix of what the bushes looked like yesterday.

Forsythia's, mangos, and sunshine are 3 things that are yellow and make me smile.
I hope you find lot's of reasons to smile today!

WW #82 Sun & Surf

Please scroll down for this week's
FBW #238  Anniversary/Love/Wedding challenge

Too Cute Ink supplied the DT with a couple of different images to work with this week and I choose this adorable Sail Away Lion image...which for some reason reminded me of the movie Life of Pi.

The challenge is SUN & SURF and surely you have one image that fits into this category?!! We'd love to have you join us at Wicked Wednesday this week, feel free to link your ATC's HERE and to also see some of the other wonderfully adorable images from Too Cute Ink used by my fellow teamies.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by, your comments are always appreciated.

FBW #238 Anniversary/Love/Wedding

This week at Flutter By Wednesday we are being sponsored by A Day For Daisies, who so kindly provided the entire DT with images for our Anniversary/Love/Wedding challenge.  After printing the Growing In Love image in various sizes I decided to made a couple of cards, both of which were colored with Gelatos and Distress Inks. They were colored outside of the lines intentionally...not because I had too much sangria, lol!

We''d love to have you join us...just make sure your project has a fairy and/or butterfly on it. My fellow teamies are full of inspiration this can see what I'm talking about HERE!

Thanks for stopping by and leaving all of the sweet comments, they always make my day.
