Y&FH #24 Make a Christmas Tag

I know you don't want to be on Santa's NAUGHTY list because you used store bought tags during the holidays this year! Don't worry, you have plenty of time to stay on his NICE list by joining the current challenge that's going on right now at Yumi & Fumi Handmade....which is their Make a Christmas Tag challenge.

 

 

I used Winter Yumi and just a few small embellishments, including brads that say Naughty and Nice from OTC. The Naughty and Nice sentiment was repeatedly stamped using TGF's Clear Christmas set. The ribbon on top of the tag also says Naughty and Nice. As you can see, I'm not going to be on Santa's bad side this year!

WW #102 Crazy for Daisies Reminder

I saw The Great Gatsby with my daughter at the theater this summer.

I listened to the book on tape while traveling in road construction.

I watched the 1974 version of the movie on Netflix.

I am enamored with everything about this classic piece of literature.

 

So when the Crazy for Daisies challenge was posted at Wicked Wednesday I had no choice but to make this ATC with Daisy Buchanan in mind.

FBW #253 OPEN

This week's challenge at Flutter By Wednesday is OPEN---Anything Goes as long as you have a butterfly or fairy on your creation.

 

 

I'm heading to a scrapbook retreat in a couple of weeks and wanted to bring a little "something something" for my fellow crafters and this is what I came up with....eighteen little treat holders filled with strips of mesh bling!

 

 

All images are from A Little Bit of Magic Fairies by Sweet November Stamps. There are 9 different images in the set and the tallest is only 2", which makes them perfect for these little treat holders.

WW 100th Celebration Sat. Reminder

We are in the midst of celebrating Wicked Wednesday's 100th challenge!

 

 

As easy as this ATC looks, it has been my most frustrating to create. I knew I was going to use New Year Emily by Sparkle Creations, but I needed to figure out how to have the sentiment stand out without making a banner. After a few attempts, I decided to mask the sentiment and stamp the image over it, and hoped glitter would mute the image even more. Well...I ran the ATC through the Xyron the wrong way...an easy fix. Ran it through the Xyron again...took the sticky layer off and dropped the ATC on a paper towel. FUZZIES over the entire ATC! I pulled out my markers, stamps, and glitter and started over again...not once, but twice.

All you have to do is create an ATC with the theme of 100/Birthday/Anniversary and link it to Wicked Wednesday by 7:00 pm EST next Tuesday evening to be eligible to win one of  the fabulous prizes from one of our 8 sponsors this week. FBW's HB 2 Danni Blog Hop

After a 2 month hiatus it's nice to be fluttering with Flutter By Wednesday again, and it looks like I'm just in time because today is the second day of a 2 day fluttery blog hop celebrating Danni's (owner/creator of FBW) birthday! My project is a 5" by 6.5" journal notepad and a 3" x 5.5" tag.  Both of these are some of my favorite projects to make because I can embellish as much, or as little as I want. The butterflies are rub-ons...no coloring for me today! The flowers were made with my TH rosette die, and the Celebrate and Happiness tags have been in my stash for quite a few years. The ribbon, twine, and tulle are standard journal/tag toppers for me and I seem to have a vast supply of all three.

 

Along with the hop, we hope that you'll also join this week's challenge at FBW which is ANYTHING GOES...as long as you include a butterfly or fairy! A little butterfly told us that if the challenge gets over 100 entries there will be a prize!!

WW's 100th Celebration Challenge

It seems like just yesterday Wicked Wednesday started out as a small ATC challenge blog and here it is....100 challenges later and going stronger than ever. I think it is all due to Jenn Borjeson being such an awesome blog/challenge owner and her hard work in coming up with fun and clever challenges every week. Without a doubt, she makes us all put on our thinking caps week after week...and we LOVE her for it!!

 

This week's challenge is 

100/Birthday/Anniversary

 

 

Our sponsor is Rick St. Dennis whose images are always fun and creative!  I had the hardest time choosing which image to use, but I did have to decide....so I chose his Euro clown with FlowEr digital image. You can barely see it in the picture, but after masking the image I sprayed LSG Starburst Spray in Champagne over the finished ATC for a little extra sparkle and shine.

After seeing Cebelica's door hanger tutorial last week, I decided to try making one for Leanne's birthday and I have to say that her tutorial was perfect for this  Door Hanger 1st timer, you can see the tutorial HERE.

Wanting the hanger to be a bit longer than the tutorial, I added the round element but thought it needed to be extra sturdy and durable, so I cut several layers of circles out of chipboard and glued them together. LOL, clothespins are not just for clothes!
