Winter Yumi Journal

Happy Tuesday! I decided to use Yumi and Fumi Handmade 's Winter Yumi for today's post...I just LOVE her cool hipster look and happy stance. I thought she'd be great on top of a journal for my daughter, which I'll give to her on Thursday...Valentine's Day. 

 

 

In honor of Valentine's Day I thought I'd use the word LOVE as much as possible in today's post, so here are all the things I LOVE about this journal...

WW #70 Valentine/Love Reminder

This ATC was made using two Crafty Secrets sets: Cherubs and Sew Special, along with typewriter alpha stickers. These are a couple of sweet, sweet cherubs...it's a shame I only pull them out once or twice a year.

Corrine is back in the house!!!

Late Wednesday evening my doorbell rang and I went to answer it....there sat, on my front porch, a package from Amazon. Hmmmm....I didn't remember ordering anything?!! OMG, someone...and I'm not sure who....sent me this fabulous 12x12 pad of my favorite SEI DP! Again, OMG....I picked it up, hugged it and did a little jig...my hubs thought I might have had too much wine, lol!

 

Did someone  feel sad for me when I posted that the pad I own is almost out?

 

Are there fellow lovers of this Corrine DP who just wanted to share?

 

And the scariest thought of all...was this sent to the wrong address?!!

 

So many unanswered questions....

FBW #226 Open Challenge

At Flutter By Wednesday we have another OPEN challenge, which this week is being sponsored by StampFairy. All you need to do to enter this challenge is have a butterfly and/or fairy on your project. Seriously, it can't get much easier that that!

I double matted this adorable Spring 5 image from StampFairy and added some twine. The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday. The hardest part about this card was lining up the butterfly brads. I love it when a card goes together so easily.

Y&F H - Winter Yumi

Are you looking at this card and trying to decide which you like better....the adorable Winter Yumi image from Yumi & Fumi Handmade, the fantabulous SEI Corrine DP, or maybe it's the sweet sentiment by Inkadinkadoo?

 

  

I think it's the combination of all three that makes this card so adorably cheery!!  But as cheery as this card is, I'm a bit sad because I've almost used up the entire 6x6 pad which I bought solely for this rainbow paper. Once I opened the pack, I fell in love with all of the patterns and am proud to say that I've kept every smidgen of scrap because I can't part with them. The scraps were perfect for paper piecing Yumi's hat and skirt.

 

I kept the embellishments to a minimum because  (I'm starting to repeat myself here) I couldn't bear to cover up the DP.

Y&F H Challenge #9 - Dies and Punches

It's true...I'm smitten with these adorable Y&F images and couldn't be happier that Leanne and Renate asked me to stay on as GD for the month of February...I'm honored!

 

Today starts Y&F H Challenge #9 which runs thru Feb 15 (noon PST) and is all about Dies and Punches! I think most of us have a few of those lying around...at least one or two, right?!! I used a MS border punch and a Nestie oval die for this card, along with the adorable Fumi with Messenger Bag. The DP is Secret Crush by Pink Paislee, and the sentiment is from the $1 bins next to the register at Joann's.

WW #69 Gothic Valentine Reminder

 

This is a quick reminder that there are still a few days left to enter in this week's Gothic Valentine challenge at Wicked Wednesday.
